Does that imply Lowe is gone or being recruited over or that Pope is gonna try to play 12 players again? If you have your solid PG why are you recruiting another.
I'm ok with low scoring if the rest of his game is filled with defense and especially assists. He's got some great athleticism.23 years old. averages 8 points in the eruoleague.
He is 6’5 I believe. Definitely not 6’, personally I’d gladly take him.He looks much taller than 6 foot to me. He’s listed at 6’4.
His size and athleticism pop on the highlights to me. Not like insane NBA all star athlete but rather never being overwhelmed in college athlete.
At this point are you actually trying to say we only need one quality PG? If you haven't learned from the last 2 years I don't know what to tell you. If he is 6'4" or 6'5" as has been said on this thread he should be able to get minutes at the 2 as well I would assume.Does that imply Lowe is gone or being recruited over or that Pope is gonna try to play 12 players again? If you have your solid PG why are you recruiting another.
You’re a miserable Noci (I have no idea what that is)You are a miserable person.
We have needed another point guard the last two seasons.Does that imply Lowe is gone or being recruited over or that Pope is gonna try to play 12 players again? If you have your solid PG why are you recruiting another.
totally agree. lowe isnt going to get keys to a program like arizona, florida, or michigan. it will be a school like ksu or maryland. sure he can get 30-35 minutes a game there and take all the shots he wants or split time with this ellis kid. and he has seen first hand how mo D played most of the time in crunch time over a euro kid.Unless Lowe wants to take a serious drop in class he’s gonna have to compete no matter where he goes. I can’t image anybody good bringing him in and just anointing him as the starting PG, especially now that he has an injury history.
Can’t convince a lot on here of that Paul. Many on here dislike Lowe because of his injury but failed to see the positives he brings to the table. We do need 2 , maybe 3 Pg just to be safe. You are describing Jaland Lowe.
Lowe will be back IMO.That's what so many here don't understand. Had Lowe not been hurt we'd had two PG's who are solid, with one of them able to slide to SG. When Lowe was on the floor, the spacing was much better.
I have zero confidence that if Pope lands him, he will be a good pg.I have zero confidence in Pope's ability to land this guy.
i think splitting time at the PG spot is perfect for lowe. Can’t convince a lot on here of that Paul. Many on here dislike Lowe because of his injury but failed to see the positives he brings to the table. We do need 2 , maybe 3 Pg just to be safe.
Just had 10 points vs Fenerbahce on Friday. EuroLeague is legit basketball.
That Fenerbahce club has BJ Boston, Talen Horton-Tucker, Wade Baldwin IV, Chris Silva, etc
He’s a big risk due to the lack of predictability on how he translates compared to a power conference player but there’a also the advantage of not having to wait for the portal to open to have the most important position locked down(the starter at least)
There has to be more to the story than his numbers, right? U6 and dUKe are both after him too.23 years old. averages 8 points in the eruoleague.
Basketball has been in Britain for years....it is not just a recent thing.......I spent quit a bit of time in England........when I walked around Ely I would see basketball goals with kids shooting.......basketball is never going to replace soccer.....but it is pretty popular with the kids over there. He’d be a huge get. From what I’ve heard, he’s a big-time talent.
Times certainly have changed when we have to go to the UK to find our point guard. It wasn’t that long ago that Brits didn’t know the difference between a basketball and a bowling ball.
Most left handed people are ambidextrous..........I doubt that it makes that much difference.....Another left handed point guard. Hope he stays healthy! Heard it’s harder to rebuild an offense when a left-handed point goes down with an injury vs. one that is right handed.![]()
Every former NBA player in the 2025-26 EuroLeague: A new record number - Basketnews.com The league has really good competition- it's the same league that Luka and Wemby came from. Luka wasn't killing it stats wise either but immediately scored more in the NBA that he did in the Euro(he went from 16 ppg in the Euro to 21ppg the next year in the nba). Some people are severely underrating the Euro league.Watch any incoming freshman's highlight video against high school players...
The competition on this video is much better than that.

I want the next PG to be very fast. Somebody that can get to the hoop often. An exceptional athlete. I want that more than jump shooting ability. Have Chandler, Kam and other shooters around him.
Another great point. It’s why I believe we need an exceptional athlete at that position. Defense, creating and ability to get to the rim and finish like the poster above said.
That’s great. It will only help the offenseaccording to the quotes from Pope, he is looking for the same qualities in his PG...
Looking for "creators"
I hope not. If I am Pope, I don't think I want to risk a starting PG coming off a shoulder injury considering his first two seasons and the PG injuries.Lowe will be back IMO.
I personally hope Lowe comes back. He's a veteran and we need the backup. At this point are you actually trying to say we only need one quality PG? If you haven't learned from the last 2 years I don't know what to tell you. If he is 6'4" or 6'5" as has been said on this thread he should be able to get minutes at the 2 as well I would assume.
Valid point. I think he will be back after his surgery which has been months ago. A physical should tell us if he's healthy I would think.I hope not. If I am Pope, I don't think I want to risk a starting PG coming off a shoulder injury considering his first two seasons and the PG injuries.

Yes that’s more important than if he can dribble and shoot! How are his shoulders?
i think a 2nd unit of lowe, chandler and hawthorne can be pretty explosive offensively. bad defensively but i bet that group can put up some points.Valid point. I think he will be back after his surgery which has been months ago. A physical should tell us if he's healthy I would think.
He is quick and can get to the rack. IDK.
The injury worries me too but we aren't in a good place with only 1 PG and Lowe if healthy is a solid player.
People get confused because there are so many different leagues and levels in Europe. They see "Euro guys" who were playing pro come over and struggle in the NCAA and think there's no good basketball in Europe. Jelavic (and Ivisic) played in the Adriatic league. There are national leagues. But go look at the names in the Euro League - you'll see lots guys who were good college players and borderline NBA guys. If you're good enough to compete in that league, you're good enough to compete in NCAA.Every former NBA player in the 2025-26 EuroLeague: A new record number - Basketnews.com The league has really good competition- it's the same league that Luka and Wemby came from. I like this kid a lot. Got some serious hops.People get confused because there are so many different leagues and levels in Europe. I think the injury to Lowe proved why you recruit multiple players at each position.Does that imply Lowe is gone or being recruited over or that Pope is gonna try to play 12 players again? If you have your solid PG why are you recruiting another.
Offense-centric fans never want to hear about it, talk about it or admit it, but DEFENSE MATTERS when you get to the BIG DANCE !!Let me tell you something there's only one thing that actually matters when it comes to a point guard and if they're good there then you go to the rest of the things that you look at:
Point guard defense. If they can't guard other point guards they're not worth messing in the college basketball style game. 100,000%.
I just got done talking about this in another thread.
Why did Pope have a chance in his first year? Lamont Butler.
Point guard defense.
This year? MIA
Yes, absolutely! Don’t try and learn on the fly at UK. Be true to yourself and your style.I know this sounds crazy, but Pope needs to go out and sign any player he thinks fits his system.
If this is his last year, he needs to go out "his" way and not trying to be something he is not.
Either prove your system works or fail trying.
I’m 100% on board with that. It seems like it would be common sense. However most very good PGs that wanna display for the NBA don’t feel that way.Worse-case, you can play them together, since Ellis is taller, if they both can beat out the off-guard (Chandler or whoever).
They all can shoot we need makers this time.Yes that’s more important than if he can dribble and shoot!![]()
