So this chick on Twitter is a huge 1980-2000 R&B/Rap/Soul/Gospel music buff and tweets out each Sunday a Music Sermon about a specific subset of one of the genres. It's really well done and has some great clips of 'old school' performances and videos. Her twitter handle is @naima if you are into that kind of stuff.

Anyway, she's created a 90s R&B March Madness bracket with Male Groups/Female Groups/Male Solo and Female Solo regions. Seems like a fun deal and some of you might want to check it out.

Jodeci is an #8 seed. [laughing][eyeroll]
She doesn't know seeding, but they're well placed in the bracket. She did have them matched up with Boyz II Men in the first round of her original bracket. I think she got mansplained (as she should) and tried to fix it.

Give me this Final 4. Boyz II Men, Aaliyah, Babyface, TLC.

We all know Boyz II Men is going to win that.

I'm not sure how Mariah isn't on there tho.

Second Round is open for voting. Go vote.

Still too early for big matchups, but here were some decent ones.

Tony, Toni, Toné v. Guy was the only slightly hard match up for male groups. Went with the 3 Ts (Not 3T, Michael's nephews)

Salt n Pepa over Total because I couldn't remember a Total song off the top of my head.

Babyface v. Usher. I don't think of Usher being that old and his stuff got better with age, so Babyface gets the nod (plus Babyface wrote urrything back then)

Johnny Gill v. Tevin Campbell - The best 'singers' of the whole male region. Tevin just couldn't last.

Vanessa Williams v. Faith Evans - Chose Vanessa because her songs remind me of a particular summer while Faith just reminds me that Biggie died.

Erykah Badu v. Toni Braxton - Toni is just hot.

The groups brackets are easier IMO, as Boyz to Men and TLC are the clear choices. Keith Sweat is a bad man for babymaking music but Maxwell wins out and then narrowly defeats Babyface for my Final Four in the mens. The womens is a ***** though. Couldn't go wrong with Lauren Hill, Toni Braxton or Mary J. Probably have to go with Mary J though as she's the Lou Gehrig of R & B. Braxton in the early 90's and Hill in the mid 90s though were incredible and just so damned hot.

The west is a meat grinder. SWV, En Vogue, TLC, and Salt n Pepa advance but it's anyone's region.

Toni Braxton takes it all but it's going to have to be some sweet odds to get my money.
