And, I don’t think he ever made the field for UK, but was written about quite a bit by UK fans.
I just saw him in concert in Clearwater, Florida a month or so ago. He looked good for his age and performed for 2 straight hours with a 15 minute break. RIP
He really was the brains of the whole operation.

Back during that era, Michael Nesmith's mother effectively altered the world, as we currently know it, with her invention, in collaboration with his high school chemistry teacher. I, for one, vividly remember pre-WYSIWYG days. Most painful. She saved my *** on more than one term paper and many, many morning status reports.
I read his obituary this AM, was surprised that no one mentioned his first hit: He wrote "Different Drum" by Linda Rondstadt and the Stone Poneys, in 1964 or so.

None of The Eagles played in The Stone Poneys. They were her backing band when she went solo after 1969 IIRC.
They did gigs backing Ronstadt at Disneyland. Im sure Henley bitched about that lol...
