I enjoyed his talent and loved his character in Cross Creek. In Cross Creek his character was of a heavy drinker and he died drunk when the Sheriff cut him down. But Rip was right and the Sheriff was wrong if it makes one feel better.

Rip was one nasty drug dealer back in the 80's. He managed to turn Iron Man into a pole-smoking drug *****. Good riddance to that Blacklister.
