Floured squirrel fried in peppered bacon grease. Temp controlled low enough for duration to last a full 18-20 minutes or it will be tough.
All jokes aside, I grew up on squirrel, fish, rabbit, whatever we could get. And that’s what I still want today.

Rabbit is wayyy better than squirrel
Rabbit, biscuits, gravy and fried potatoes is hard to beat.
I rabbit hunted most of my life until the last couple years. Nothing like a good mess of fried rabbit, biscuits and gravy. Love deer meat. Love walleye, crappie, bluegill, flathead catfish and spoonbill. I could eat any of that all the time.
“eat any of that”- it really is whatever you grew up on. My mother couldn’t wait for me to bring her a squirrel so she could get the brain. Never ate the brains myself but it’s just a craving If you will for what got you here. Kinda hard to explain.
“Ever eat turtle”- yes. Funny story on that. A friend who has long since passed, and I used to trot line and twig line the local creek for catfish every summer. One year we had a few trot lines set and mostly we were catching soft shell turtles. Well, he would eat anything so he started taking them home and eating them. We caught a few hard shell turtles and I would shoot them with my 22 pistol and let them sink. A few days later (this was July) the creek started to smell. One day we were going to run the line and the first hook had a turtle so I asked if he wanted it. He said the night before he cooked up a bunch of turtle and in the middle of the night he started smelling the stink of the floaters and ran outside and threw up for an hour. He never ate turtles again.
I like the whole frog. My grandfather used to take me frogging back in the 70’s and I’d spend the night with him. Next morning grandma would fry up the frogs head and all, Not much on a frogs head but it was eaten. Good times.
Have never heard of this but if grandma did it it had to be good.
I don't know nothing about no whole frog, but I dang sure like the legs.
My grandfather was the only person I ever knew who would chew the meat off of a frogs head. Truthfully, I did try it after watching him, but only once. He wouldn’t waste anything.
