She transitions into topics well and has a ton of charisma. A couple of things a lot of these analysts lack.
You could replace any of them and not miss a beat.

Frankly, I don’t care if it comes off as sexist, with the exception of the two I mentioned, I do not give a single **** about any female’s opinion on sports. It becomes very apparent how often they are hired for looks (and in a lot of cases nowadays- to check off a diversity box).

Absolutely. Doris Burke is absolutely the best in the business and is respected as such. Linda Cohn knows her hockey.

Just because a woman is attractive doesn’t mean that’s the only thing she’s got going for her lol. There are women out there who know more about sports than you. Maria Taylor was a D1 and Olympic athlete. That’s why they hired her. Rachel Nichols is related to Dianne Sawyer. That’s why they hired her.

And neither of them are different as tv hosts or analysts.

Every time:

Ryan bruner - says something stupid

Everyone else - you're obviously wrong

Ryan bruner - lolz who cares anyway why are you so mad

I mean people forget ****. Bill Simmons had a vote as well and I spent all season listening to him say dumb things and talk himself into putting certain people on and not others. Yea I mean I feel bad for AD but lets not act like these ballots at all perfect. I mean John Hollinger voted Rudy freaking Gobert for MVP. Its all subjective either way. She should've just pretended like she meant to do that and no one would have cared. I care more about someone purposely doing something dumb like voting Rudy Gobert for mvp than something harmless like forgetting AD when you're filling out your ballot.

You called her amazing. I would argue that she is less than amazing.

Iirc he stood to make a really nice incentive if he was a unanimous selection. He was knocked out of millions because she "forgot".

Everyone being the same 5-6 people is certainly a funny exaggeration.

ESPN gave her a chance to just walk away gracefully. But she didn't. So her affair with Butler in the bubble got exposed. Let's be real. That's why she wasn't given the job. She ran her mouth and she got exposed... She likely broke rules by having the affair and was going to be punished quietly.

If that rumor is true, that’s such a massive violation of journalistic ethics (not that those matter in today’s media industry).

Are you acting like you’ve discovered the missing link by realizing that the area of the highest percentage of black residents like black porn? That’s also why it’s popular in Michigan and Illinois - hint: Detroit and Chicago.

Also - why are you looking up most popular gay porn searches? Can’t say that I desire to know that info…
Pornhub put it all on the same page

But also, ebony is the top viewed category amongst all users in most of SEC country. Blacks are still very much a minority in the south. That means there still a lot of white dudes watching it.

I don't watch pre-game shows nearly as much as i used to, but from what i've seen of her she seems to be good at her job, but $7-8 million a year? Not even close. And it isn't just her, none of them, especially on ESPN, are worth that.

This is the kind of quality that eight million dollars a year buys at ESPN:

Is that why he was so excited to be leaving for the bubble in those beer commercials or whatever it was?

Isn't Taylor the one who replaced Kaylee Hartung who made a disastrous career decision going to the cesspool known as CNN and has basically never been heard from again?

Just hope for her sake it isn't too much less than what she thinks she should be paid and she ends up not getting anything.
I get that I'm just not a big proponent of questioning what someone wants to be paid or is being paid. I never understand it with athletes and in this case I'm sure Taylor will get paid but of course she's going to ask for more than the original price. Its a negotiation.

Hartung has been with ABC News for two years.

There’s only so many jobs at Fox News and her hair is too not blonde to be considered for an on air role over there.

Lol they're all the same man.
I don't really want to get into an argument but just by saying that they are the same doesn't make it the case. Thats like me saying you and I are the same yet providing no context as to how that is the case. We could get into their mannerisms and many other things but they are far from the same. They don't report on the same information and Rachel is more of a moderator on the jump whereas Maria is involved more in the actual conversation on her shows.

There's absolutely nothing amazing about her as an analyst or sideline reporter. I've watched game day and her NBA pregame and halftime shows. Want to see special? Watch the TNT crew.

You can have that opinion but that is all it is. I think Taylor does an amazing job. Personally, other than Chuck, I think the TNT Crew is mediocre at best.

I don't like Stephen A but I also think it's undeniable he drives ratings. He might be the only ESPN personality I can think of that does except maybe kornheiser/Wilbon combo.

I don't like him either but you're absolutely right -- it's undeniable that his act consistently reels in a large audience. And in my opinion, that's a pretty damning indictment of the current sorry state of sports commentary: it features a lot of style but almost zero substance, and most people are totally cool with that. :/

Are you talking about the Inside the NBA crew? Because if thats the case you can't say Maria is nothing special and then get excited to watch Shaq and Chuck fall asleep and stumble through what they're saying on TV. Not to mention how out of touch both are with the game of basketball at this point. I like watching it because its entertaining......but I also enjoy Maria Taylor because she's professional and very intelligent. Her talking points are also always pretty good. She speaks with purpose and will end up getting the money shes wanting from ESPN. Her and Laura Rutledge are both very good at what they do. Do you ever watch Get Up?

For what purpose? It means something important to Boston. He is obsessed with identity politics. As are most leftists.
I think it was a joke. Just the fact that in the southeast the most watched categories are those two is odd. You wouldn't expect that.

Rachel Nichols is an absolute garbage human being. But I understand her point. She had - in her contract - a deal to do the NBA finals and they asked her to step aside to let Maria do it because she's black. Rachel was "yay rah rah diversity" when it was going to hurt other white people, not her.

And this is the problem I have with all the DEI crap. The left thinks that white men are sitting around trying to think of ways to keep only white men in power. Wrong. We're only thinking of ways of keeping ourselves (e.g., the individual in power). And that's why so many businesses are falling for DEI. The decision makers believe that it won't affect them.

Nichols said it was in her contract. Do we know for sure it was actually in her contract? Just because she said it was in her contract doesn’t make it so. Based on what we know about her, I need to see it before I believe it simply because she said it.
