I'm anticipating quite a few games getting rescheduled to Thursday night.
I'd say you'll start seeing teams make the bump up to Thursday starting on Tuesday.
Be the best thing to do. Don’t want any teams using the weather conditions as a excuse. On top of that it’s Andrews Homecoming
I can't remember which college teams it was but in 2016 when hurricane Matthew hit there was a college football game that was played that day and it was nuts. I think it was NC State versus somebody I can't rememberPlay ball
Thanks I knew it was NC State couldn't remember the other team. That game was total chaos
Seems like homecoming for several schools. For that reason alone you'll see plenty of Thursday games.
I bet they'll find somewhere else to play. Especially if the storm stays on its track toward the panhandle. They'll probably start evacuating the University on Tuesday I bet. They'll pack up football operations and move out of the path of the storm. Wouldn't be shocked if it's played somewhere like LSU.
What do you do with games like Mitchell - Draughn where Draughn's JVs have a home game Thursday night? I assume there's others with that situation. Play on Saturday?
Play jv game Wednesday or following Monday. Honestly if you can get officials why not just play both at the same site Thursday then just give the jv gate to the team that would have hosted the jv game?
Indeed that's an idea you don't see very much. Only time I ever recall it happening here was in 2015 when East Wilkes and Alleghany did a double header before a t storm came through.
What a rainy season that was; it rained a ton that year. The week before we went to West Stanly and tore their field up from all the rain they had. Whoever's bright idea to play that night was epically wrong.
Need to wait another day now this may not get here until late Friday into saturday morning.
2015 was my son's junior year. The first weekend was great weather then the rest of the year sucked. I also went to CFB games then on Saturdays so I wound up investing in an Under Armour rain suit. It was pretty pricey. My wife said, "you paid all that and it probably won't rain another drop." I told her "If so, then it was money well spent to make it go away."
Well I know a few days can make a difference in a forecast but as of now if anyone does reschedule looks like it would have to be Thursday instead of Saturday looking at the weather from Valdese (Draughn) to Windsor (Bertie) is Friday night 90% & Saturday day 90% night 80% the lowest % is Murphy Friday night 70% Saturday day 70% night 60% so this weather covers the whole state both days.

.Playing in the rain might be fun and all but it's not worth the risk of injury or what it does to the field especially if it's monsoon.
I'm not really thinking about lighting and I know it football we've all played and practiced in rain but for the games the question is how heavy is the rain there's a between rain and a monsoon type.
And it's not just how it affects the players schools like a good gate and a heavy rain could definitely cut down on the crowds.
The Mitchell -Draughn game Draughn on a nice night would have probably they best gate night during the regular season Mitchell one of the best traveling fan base in the state but a heavy rain could definitely keep serval from making the trip to sit in a downpour.
Personally I'd rather sit in a snow storm than heavy rain.

State has another big one this time around with prime time game against Clemson. Hope it stays dry for it.
Word is that Thomasville plans to play JV on Wednesday and varsity on Thursday. Smart move.
Game is 7:30pm while still calling for rain but looks better than if it had been a early game. States D has played well but offense which supposed had been good will need to step up better than it has been. GO PACK!!!
