I don’t recall DR getting knocked down once last night. The late roughing penalty was a light slap to his helmet. That call bailed Oregon out.

Did all you guys who are trying to convince yourself Dylan only threw 10 yard passes just not see his 50 yard TD toss? Or his sick fake that led to his other TD? Dude was on fire last nite.

People are way too emotional about him and are trying to will him to fail. Coming in cold to win a top 20 road game and people are acting like he's a scrub. Lol

You know people are butt hurt when they say his "stats" at NU are pointless and instead we hate him because of his uncle, his shiny shoes, and his mannerisms, and we heard he liked girls.

There’s plenty of legitimate criticism of DR. There’s also plenty of compliments in this thread. It’s a message board. What do you expect?

DR was/is a polarizing figure. His obvious attempts to mimic Mahommes and his personality coupled with his obvious distaste for contact rankled some fans. Add his paycheck and it’s easy to see why some people dislike him.

He's only polarizing because people are so emotional about him and had such high expectations. It isn't like he's going around doing or saying crazy or controversial stuff on a weekly basis. It's like how some people are disgusted by Marlon Lucky because they thought he would be the #1 pick.

His mannerisms often are kind of awkward. It’s interesting how quickly our fans have fallen in love with Colandrea. Colandrea is balls to the walls all the time. Some of it is that Raiola came across kind of prissy and unwilling to take a hit. I still remind people of how young he still is. He had the weight of fan expectations and his dad’s legacy on his shoulders. His dad was a behind the school brawler who would take on guys 50lbs heavier than himself. DOM’s intensity was legendary through his time in the NFL. Dylan is not his dad.

NU has the QB that is much better suited for what OCDH wants to do as a play caller. Colandrea gets the ball to a lot of guys and those guys are making plays. Definitely expands what he and Dana can do in the playbook. But also glad to see the Raiola kid ball out last night. No hard feelings.

This is a neat theory

But reality is play calling has largely gone unchanged

AC’s escapability just covers up the same warts that doomed Dylan

We still struggle in pass pro. We’re not imposing our will in the run game.

Nearly all of our best plays yesterday weren’t called in the huddle

It’s hard to feel sorry for a 21 year old who has already banked millions, but coming to NU was maybe a mistake. He would still be riding the pine at Georgia I guess or have transferred somewhere else. It’s worked out for him but the pressure was immense in Lincoln. I hate seeing the personal attacks on him and his family. I believe his dad had been very generous with NU over the years. Dom is/was a great Husker but he probably also realizes what a dog eat dog business college football is.

there’s clearly more designed QB runs which opens up your offense and slows the pass rush.

Raiola is limited and lacks leadership. He’s in as good a spot as he can be, surrounded by some of the best lineup money can buy, where he doesn’t have to work through progressions, he can keep a large majority of passes simple and short, and talented receivers can make adjustments. He will have good numbers.
