I was truly surprised by the way the Cats dominated Bradley last night. My random thought as that the Cats looked a bit like the Wisconsin teams have looked the last 20 years. They appeared to be physical enough to control the Braves on defense, and methodical enough to get good shots on offense. They did not try to win a track meet.

I will be interested to see if this is the style of play Collins settles on this year.

I thought they looked like a veteran team last night, especially when it came to pushing the pace. They ran when possible but made sound decisions about pulling back.

This was the second time vs. a "better" team that NU seemed to catch a lot of breaks on inside shot attempts. I saw a lot of layup/put-back attempts roll off the rim and get grabbed by NU. I think Bradley shot 33% for the game, and Providence about 30%

I am guessing this was not a fluke. I am no student of the Naismith Chronicles (but I slept at a Holiday Inn last week), but it seems evident that our length with Young, Nance, Beran, Jones and Gaines' physical play is eliminating a lot of easy baskets.
