If you took the A out of thousand and spelled it thousend you could count to 999,999,999,999,999 without ever saying a word that had the letter A in it. If you did that and took the A out of quadrillion then you could count to 999 with another 42 999s behind it before finding a word with the letter A in it. If you took the A out of quattuordecillion and made it quettuordecillion I don't even know what it would be but it would be at least 999 with 300 999s behind it.

If you took the "e" out of Glenn and spelled it "Glann," then you couldn't even count to 1 before Glann posted a bad take.

Yeah, doesn't quite work.

I'm thinking his point was the 50 words in 20 seconds without an "a" could be: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, etc ... forty-nine, fifty.

Would also work for b, c, d, j, K, m, and p. I feel like a couple of those are wheel of fortune letter guesses.

Why not just say that you could count to 999 and never use a word with the letter A? Much simpler to explain And still blow a drunk guy's mind.
