The article said to be suspended, it would have to be his 4th offense! First was the combine, where he said it was still in his system from a month or two prior. Second offense costed him two games pay. Third costed him four games pay. Fourth costed him four games pay and four actual games. Dude has a problem. He has doesn't nothing but lie to himself and everyone else.

To c2o, I would disagree with you. Even experts disagree that weed is neither/both physically and mentally addictive. All addictive drugs fall into one or the other, and weed falls right in the middle of both. Daily use of weed surely causes one or the other. If it didn't, Gregory would have to be just the most stubborn a-hole ever. I think weed has its hooks in Gregory, and he hasn't seriously overcome it.

Weed is not addictive.
Some people think they can do what they want to do even when they know they are not supposed to do it.

He's not addicted.
He's stupid.
I have to disagree, and since it is you c2o who I am almost always on the same page as, I will respectfully disagree. According to Webster addiction is: "a strong and harmful need to regularly have something (such as a drug) or do something (such as gamble)". Constantly smoking MJ appears to be a strong desire for RG, and certainly has been harmful (if losing hundreds of thousands of dollars is considered harmful, which I do).

Damn near anything can be addictive to somebody like shopping, hoarding, buying shoes, etc. No doubt in my mind weed is addictive for some people,

My wife and son have the bad habit of biting their fingernails. They can't stop; they are addicted! If I told them they could win 10 million dollars if they stopped, I would hope that they could stop. Pretty stupid if they couldn't. So I agree that Randy is both addicted and stooopidly stupid.

Even addiction experts can't agree if it is physically or mentally addictive. It's a weird drug that don't cause obvious signs like DT's of alcohol or harder drugs. It certainly can cause people to continue to use when there is every reason to stop.

If we excuse alcoholism as a "disease", I would think our society of excuses will eventually admit weed is "addictive"

I think that MJ should be legal, but employers have a right to restrict their usage in their workplace. Put me down for Gregory is stupid. He can pick up his habit after his career in the NFL is done. If he doesn't learn it will be over sooner rather than later.

Not addicted, just really stupid. He went to probably the second worst franchise (Browns #1) in the NFL to help with his "issues."

Sad that his time at Nebraska no one put the hammer on him about it. They just let him do his thing.

Still feel a little sorry for him. This is millions he will never get back. Yeah it's his own doing, but eventually there will be a wife and kids and this could have helped support them.

I don't smoke weed ... But I fail to understand why anybody (NFL, lawmakers, cops, courts, etc.,) gives a damn when another adult smokes weed.

We don't have a real terrific understanding of addiction generally. And people in this thread an even worse one.

...until you witness its destructive effects on someone you love, your family, and beyond.

Booze and cigs are worse - but legal. MJ has medicinal value - legalize it. If you study the history of hemp the fact it is illegal has more to do with DuPont wanting hemp plants eliminated from competition with their own products than it did from drug abuse. That said - I am not saying it is a good idea to go out there and smoke a giant bowl. And there is evidence teenage use is problematic for brain development. So it needs some controls - but controlled substance like heroin, no.
