We know Coach Stoops will be here next season so how about we rank our order of needs to get better?

I'm ranking our worst position on the field going into next season as #1.

This is what I see as our list of concerns from #1 to #5.

What say you?

1. Better Coaching/Scheming(Stoops has to get better at out-scheming opponents in the SEC)
2. Entire O-Line(Need I say more after watching this season?)
3. LB spots(I'm worried about being so young)
4. DT spots(I like Elam's progress, but where is our depth after this season?)
5. Special Teams(a total disaster)

I think we should be mostly solid everywhere else because our young Redshirts will start getting on the field providing some decent depth.

Based on what I think UK needs for 2016;

1. Linebacker help...UK has some really young guys that the staff is high on, but they could REALLY use a JUCO or two to help out in the interim. Nothing sucks on defense more than breaking in linebackers, and UK will be breaking in a few next year.

2. Defensive line help...UK needs some impact players inside. Maybe Elam will develop, but he's the only interior guy that I'm remotely high on, and even Elam hasn't lived up to expectations. Again, I'd hit the JUCO ranks and sign 1-2 interior lineman. I'd also like to see UK go to a 4-3 and use Ware and Hatcher as down lineman.

3. Quarterback...name the starter at the end of spring drills and give Gunnar Hoak and Phillips a fair shot to win the job. UK needs a smart, accurate QB that can put some touch on passes. If it's Barker, awesome. If it's Phillips or Hoak, awesome. I could care less. I'd put less emphasis on a dual threat guy and just play the best player.

4. UK has some good, young offensive lineman coming in (including one JUCO). I guess they could add another JUCO.

GBB!!!

It starts and ends with needing a new AD. Anything else is a bandaid on a bullet wound.

Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner! The ONLY thing that makes me want to hold on to Stoops is the mortal fear I have of another Barnhart FB hire. Until we hire an AD serious about FB and tie his longevity to gridiron success.....we are going nowhere. Barnhart trying his hand at another HC hire would be just the latest spin in our long and agonizing FB death spiral.

DL (really front 7) is several levels below "need", more like "gaping head wound".
Yep. CJ Johnson, Melvin Lewis (was already gone due to injury), and Josh Forrest were the best 3 of our front seven and are now gone. I believe Courtney Love could replace Forrest, but UK is going to struggle to account for the loss of CJ Johnson. Matt Elam has already "replaced" Lewis, but he's not quite on the level that Lewis was as of yet. We'll also see young guys having to replace Flannigan/Henderson at LB and Huguenin at DE.

The only good thing I really have to say about our D next year is that it should be one of the best secondaries we've had in awhile. Westry, Baity, Edwards, and West make for a very good starting lineup. Other than that I think our D is really going to struggle next year.

Focusing on the offense, I need to see more from our receivers and our QBs before I say that we're fine there. WRs started the year well, but flat out sucked during the last half of the schedule. Barker also has lots of room to improve before the season starts. RB should be fine with Boom and Kemp, though. Offensive line obviously needs to improve a ton as well.

We need more running backs. Losing Boom and Kemp was part of the reason we lost the U of Loserville game. Both running backs have been hurt a lot.

This, in turn, is the answer for your defense.....keeps them off the field......fresh bodies make plays

It also keeps the fans entertained and buying tickets while you build your defense....if you put 35-40 points on the board and lose, it's more tolerable for the fanbase until you can turn the corner
