We are very local! Not sure that this is good or bad, but the ranking is very interesting.

I remember the days when O$U fans were proud that about 90% of their players were from Ohio. Not so much anymore. They just go with the best players money can buy.

Well if osu is number 12 I would count that as number 1 and go from there.

Ohio is not what it once was in high school football. To maintain a high level of talent, OSU has gone nationally. OSU is not alone in doing that.

Geography is important. How many million people live within 5 hours of a school? Those with large population bases don’t need to look as far

Given that retention of players is difficult in the era of the transfer portal, recruiting locally is probably even more valuable that it had been in the past. I don't think anyone would suggest that we shouldn't try to recruit top athletes from all over the country (including Florida, Texas, etc) but if having the bulk of PSU's classes being "local" from PA, NJ, Maryland, Virginia, etc I think is likely a better strategy than a wider recruiting area. I'm more concerned about actually getting the top local talent to commit than criticizing not getting more players from other regions.

Really surprised at Iowa being high on this list.

It's not good when the best talent in the country is thousands of miles away. We should aim to be closer to OSU, who does a better job recruiting nationally.
Stop the effing complaining! 99% of every school and fanbase would give their left nut to be Penn State. Jesus H C!

Except for UCLA ... but maybe they have players from Hawaii and/or Samoa
