IMO - Duke, UVA and UNC are the best 3 teams and if they weren’t forced to beat up on each other in conference, they’d all have cleaner records. Very real possibility that all 3 schools earn a #1 seed given that fact. I’d be totally ok with it too. B1G schools don’t scare me and UK/TN aren’t as good as advertised. I’d rather find us in a bracket region with those conference schools.

Really hoping Zion plays Saturday and like you mentioned, a chip on their shoulder going into the game will be nice!

That’s the case with any conference with real good teams. If UK and Tenn aren’t in the same conference they don’t beat each other and both are top 4

Maybe, maybe not. The SEC isn't as good as the ACC. Tennessee has a defense ranked in the 30s, and last time I checked UK's offense was barely in the top 20. They're two, really good teams, but they haven't faced close to the same gauntlet in the SEC.

I don't agree with UNC and it's not because I hate them. They are still going to struggle with team(s) that have athletic bigs, because it's Maye's kryptonite.

Definitely. Their small lineup is a huge liability against a team that’s dominant inside and on the glass. Maye is very crafty offensively and he stretches the floor but being unathletic and 6’8” he can be a cancer on defense at the 5.

But, every team has their flaws. I’ve always had a sense of disrespect for B1G basketball and I’m just not overly impressed with UT or KY. The idea of crediting UNC makes me want to vomit so let’s just say I favor our great ACC conference! Lol

I don't really care about the rankings, all I care about is beating UNC Sat and securing a 1 seed.

As far as the tournament goes, with a healthy Zion, we are still the heavy favorites. And I'd slot Gonzaga and UVA right behind us followed by UK.

Let's call it like it is, Roy has done an outstanding job with this UNC team. They aren't as talented as some of the great UNC teams, and they keep winning. They shoot wayyyyyyy too many three's though for me to trust them in the tournament, I can't see them hot for 6 games in a row.
As Duke fans, this is something we should all be familar with, given K building most of our "non-elite" teams by shooting a ton of three pointers and then we bow out early in the tournament.

cmon CUSE tonight and we win out:D
I really hope Virginia loses 1 of their remaining 2 regular season games and we win out because then we would only have to play either UNC or Virginia in the ACC Tournament whereas if Virginia wins out and I whether we win out or lose 1 of our remaining 2 games then there’s a possibility that we’d play UNC and Virginia back to back and I really don’t want to see that happen especially since it would mean that we would have played UNC twice within 6 days at that point.

Strange how the #2 team can lose twice to the #4 team and that is the ranking...just shows opinion polling is highly pecksniffian :)

UNC ahead of us? That's literally the dumbest ranking in the history of the AP poll. Whatever, gonna be even sweeter when Duke demolishes them this week.

I credit the ACC schedulers more than Roy, but he’s taken advantage of a favorable ACC schedule.

I don’t mind playing UVA and UNC back-to-back. For one, it would be a good test for this young team. For two, that means we just knocked UNC out of the ACCT!

We better get some contributions from the bench. This could be Maui (without the travel) all over again.

Duke had a very light ACC schedule last year. Unfortunately, with unbalanced schedules, these sort of things happen and will continue to do so. Let's be honest, though....no one here thought UNC was going 14-4 or better back in early January, and that is when we already knew they had a 'lighter' conference slate. They've exceeded just about everyone's expectations....probably even their own.

Agreed. He took advantage of the advantage and we didn’t.

i dont disagree with the first part of what you said...ive been pretty skeptical this season but im starting to believe -- UNC has proven they can beat good teams while having bad shooting nights. And to be fair, when youre a 1 or 2 seed, you really dont need to be hot until the Sweet 16 onward, which is the case for pretty much every team that wants to win the championship. A 1 or 2 seed can usually play their C game and still walk into the second weekend. I think Duke is the easy favorite if Zion comes back, but I think UNC and Gonzaga are the biggest threats due to their depth and how hard they are to stop when theyre hot..I dont see UK or UVA beating Duke, and I think Tennessee is grossly overrated
