I know I'm old, but I liked Buck better than Banks and Yayo.

Full disclosure: East coast is my least favorite hip hop. (I know the genre started up there.) I like south and west, even some midwest, much better than the NYC ****.

As far as diss tracks go, I give Pusha a C+. I took an entire grade away because the best diss tracks leave family out of the beef. But that background beat is SOLID. That’s where I added the “+” to the score

I couldn’t listen to the link for some reason but if you’re referring to the Pusha T background music, it’s from the last jay-z album.

My questions is: Why?! What is the story behind the pic?

"This picture is from 2007, a time in my life where I was an actor and I was working on a project that was about young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and type cast. The photos represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment," he continued.

"Me and my best friend at the time Mazin Elsadig who is also an actor from Sudan were attempting to use our voice to bring awareness to the issues we dealt with all the time as black actors at auditions. This was to highlight and raise our frustrations with not always getting a fair chance in the industry and to make a point that the struggle for black actors has not changed much," Drake concluded.“

I don’t care who’s side you’re on and who you think is good and isn’t. Hip hop has always been a bunch of dudes acting hard and another bunch of dudes acting hard and acting like the other group is soft. They act like group B is fake, garbage and whatever else and group A is “real gangsta” and if you like the group the other doesn’t, then you don’t know music, talent or “real”. It’s laughable. 2pac and biggie were both great. But people argued on one side or the other and would make fun of who they were against in the battle like it was a prerequisite. It’s all a joke. I like hip hop. Don’t know near as much as i used to but I’ll listen to a drake song and I’ll listen to a pusha song. Don’t care.

Anyway, apparently Drake was close to releasing his rebuttal and has been asked and pleaded with not to release the song and now appears that he won’t. But it’s apparently not because he was going to lose the battle. Sounds like some dirt was about to come out that would have been pretty damaging to some careers so I respect drake for not doing it.

So basically Drake had nothing and this was the best way to go about it.

J Prince must be getting a cut off Drake too.

You guys need to learn J Prince. Mashburned didn't even know who he was 3 years ago in this very thread, which basically ruined his credibility forever.

J Prince told Drake to stop getting clowned and touching up his money. If Aubrey had a dad it wouldn't have to come to this.

Drake is a great pop rapper and makes bangers for women and upper middle class white dudes who love punchlines they can ironically/unironically put in a Facebook posts.

His entire career is built on his word, that's why he's who he is. He isn't lying, that's for certain.

Anyways, hope Push enjoys his hot week and 100K of sales. RIP Drizzy! [laughing][eyeroll]

Yea, well how many more times is he gonna allow Drake to embarrass him. This is like the 3rd time J Prince has had to publicly cover for that lil canadian soy baby. He better keep making that money or Prince is gonna disappear him.

Oooooo soundscan beefs!!! Lmao

Drake is probably the biggest artist (any genre) in the world, I think J is more than happy with his son's little MySpace discovery.

You try so hard, but continually sound so stupid.

J Prince saved Pimp C from getting murdered by C Murder and Master P on the implication that he would take their entire crew out. Yeah, sounds like a guy who thinks a rap song is too mean and had to keep it under wraps.

Definitely not worried about Drake putting out a weak *** track and extending the bad press. Nope. Not at all [laughing]

People won’t even really speak on the Pimp C and Master P mess.

Regardless Drake has nothing and J Prince is saving his ***. Also, Pusha crack rapping in 2018 is terrible.

His brother was better than him anyway and got smart once his money got clean.

Never heard of that Dave East dude but I’ve listened to his stuff the past few days and I think he is solid.

What’s funny is when people talk about “pop” and act like drake is terrible, they don’t realize all they’re doing is saying it because it’s “cool” to not like drake. It’s the opinion people think they’re supposed to have to be “cool”.

Same with Nas back in the day. Everybody was laughing at him because the “cool” artists were trashing him and now people wanna throw him in the conversation with one of the top artist of all time. I thought it was cool to not like Nas? Now he’s top ten? That’s more “pop” than anything so go ahead and jump on the bandwagon so you can stay with the main stream and think you are in the know. When in reality, all you’re doing is fitting right in with mainstream pop culture which you act like you try to avoid to be “different” when in actuality you aren’t different at all.

And I’m not a huge drake fan. I think he’s decent. I think a lot are. My favorite artists from back in the day was OutKast and goodie mob. Cee-lo green before he was the cee-lo most people know him as today. They were groups that i don’t think will ever be topped. Lyrically or musically and they had numerous “pop-ish” songs but when they went towards straight hip-hop, they were amazing. So I’m not going to talk s^*t because someone makes a song the girls like. If you’re a man, they aren’t trying to get your attention with those songs anyway.

Lastly, I’m a Kentucky fan over everything. Maybe some of you aren’t. I care way more about UK than I do rap. So as long as a popular artist like drake represents us, I like him. Until he starts repping duke, he’s good with me.

J Prince on the breakfast club this week said Cash Money owed him 12M and payments are getting sorted out in a respectful way.

So yea he can’t be having their biggest money maker lose momentum or money or his gets messed up.

Respect for repping CeeLo. IMO this is one of his best bars (on a Trick Daddy joint!)

I love the dudes who rep somebody as "hard' or "the realest mothertoucher out", then they hit it big or mainstream, then they are trash. LOL, if you like somebody, like them, not until they are no longer "underground" that you THINK you found before everyone got hip to them.

If i hear a Drake song i like, i listen to it, if i hear a Future song i like, i touching listen to it,,, simple really.

False. Rappers change to maintain popularity or to get it. It’s what defines the really great ones that usually their changes are perfectly suited to them.

Kanye, OutKast, 50, Snoop, Wayne etc etc changed for the worse.

Very few change and get better, but it did work for Jay-Z.
