Sure does seem if I didn't like something, at all apparently, I would be better served not spending so much time on it.

Your strategy on life is interesting. Haters hate though so you do you!

Called research, idiot. I am fascinated by the current rap game. The good and the bad. The way it's consumed now has just changed things so much. Because of that, now more than ever, it's really difficult to compare the GOATS of the steaming era to traditional GOATS who were judged solely on their albums. It's fun stuff, tbh.

Danny made a complete album. I don't like it, but from a non biased critique standpoint, it's clear as day when you listen to it. Try it. It's interesting, focused and point. Hipster blogs worshiped it. Kendrick on it.

I knows it's hard for y'all to put aside obvious differences, but Danny's Old to Atrocity is what Kendrick's GKMC to TPAB/Damn! is. Very similar. I don't expect you to get that because you haven't listened to those 4 albums. But they followed similar paths, obviously just doing it their own way/style which is very different.

Dang, just look at the production credits. Tells the whole story. This album for ADD kids. Jumbled mess of a thing.

Section 80 was/is my favorite and I still listen to it more than any other Kendrick. If "Michael Jordan" were on Section 80 I wouldn't have had too much to do with OD.

I still remember when I finally bought the actual hard copy of GKMC after I had listened to it on iTunes since the day it dropped. The loser behind the counter kept trying to pimp it to me "Cudi said its best rap album he has heard in a long time and he cant stop listening to it" all this ********. Just stfu and give me my platinum.

Lol "cudi said"

Here's what J'Na said...

J’na Jefferson, Contributing Writer: VIBE

Kendrick has always been candid about the issues he suffers with when it comes to his spiritual and emotional well-being. I’m sure that being able to open up to millions of people is cathartic for him, especially since people can take the album in several different ways depending on how the lyrics touch them. With that being said, DAMN.made me feel a sense of relief of my own, in the sense that we’re not alone when it comes to certain struggles. There’s not many rap albums nowadays that speak to me on a personal level, so when one body of work has tracks that evoke emotions through lyrics that mirror a current situation or my life as a whole, I have to give props

Camille, Mikey fresh, and Desire were also touched by the album, FYI.

You didn't know Kurupt was from Philly lol.

He only talks about it all the time -- guess you need to go research. He also has a brother, who reps Philly a bit more aggressively. Here's a smooth West Coasty summer Jam from '03, where he doesn't rap Hard AF. :fire:

-Best song on 'OD' is Average Joe, and it's not close. One of his Top 5-10, easy.

Research? I listened like you did.

Came away with 3-4 real good listens and some filler that isn't my style. Boom done in 3 lines, maybe even 4.

You on the other hand, Shew wee! 3 days in so far trying to convince folk that like the album that it's garbage!

Research would suggest a better use of your time, which was my point. There has to be something you like that brings good convo here? No? Nothing! Well damn.

Real quick, I can't believe anyone wouldn't mess with LUST. :eyes: Reminds me of an Outkast song, one of their little beat-driven interludes that had no real point but was just kinda fun and banged.

Probably my 2nd fav after Duckworth. That beat funky AF, Dot doing his little George Clinton thing. :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

... I'll agree with you ^ on the Duckworth beat switch tho. That **** is out of control with all artists -- felt the same way about 'The Heart Part IV', before Alchemist came on with his beat for the 2nd verse and ruined it. Then, he comes back with the exact same beat slowed down for 'Fear'. [eyeroll]

Pretty sure Kanye/Drake started this growing trend. It works out 1 out of 5 times maybe (Like on MAAD City with MC Eiht for example), but the rest of the time it ruins the vibe of the song.

I'll say this. Last nights study session gave me a respect for drake. I mean I loathe this genre of pop hop, but it's the only thing that matters now, as sad as that is, and Kendrick just made drake look *really* good while failing horribly at imitating his music.

So, I hate myself even more now and truly regret giving Kendrick a chance. This damn album has f'd me up more than I imagined.

Right, the mc eight thing was on point and made sense. It was teo different rappers and stories. This **** was just k.dot being too damn cute. I don't understand it. It's painful to listen to. I still don't believe Kendrick heard the final cuts of most of this album, and I don't believe for one second Dre executive produced this...even though Dre kind of sucks now.

I swear it's ADD kids coupled with the electro music bs. Kids fn lose their minds WHEN THE BEAT DROPS OMGOMGOMG and that's basically what all this weird **** is.

White people took over hip hop and mfers like Kanye and jay let them have it. Burns me up. I don't blame Kendrick bc he's a young weirdo.

If I didn't ride blade on curb would you still love me?

-Drake is dope & brilliant in his own way, no need to try to pigeonhole him into something he's not (and that he doesn't try to be). He can rap, he can sing a little, and he's got a great ear for beats.

You know this already, as do Pat & Freddie. Don't be ashamed.

Right now, I don’t think anybody would be up there with me. There’s not too many people. Kendrick Lamar is great. From a technical standpoint, he’s one of the best. I don’t know about nobody else, man. I think Drake is probably the best songwriter of our time right now. He’s one of the best rappers too.

:eyes:

He's boring AF, but Freddie knows his Rap. Gotta hand it to the man. :100points:

It's not, but you'll enjoy 'Idols' -- about as personal of a song as I've heard in awhile, just let's Birdman have it for 4 minutes, holds little back.

...and of course, 'Dead Presidents' is :fire::fire::fire:

-Crushed Glass is the best song on Gibbs, imo.

'Phone Lit' tho. [laughing] Nice.
