Oh he's on BTN. Driving home I turned on the radio broadcast and didn't hear him so wondered where he was . I think he's a good announcer . I don't get the love affair with Lucas otherwise . He was a very overrated quarterback here . Teel and nova were better at Rutgers

Brian Fortay was much better but for some reason coach would always go
back to Ray, I think some kind of payback was involved.

Don't get it? Maybe because he put on the uniform and has been a great supporter since.

You're right about fan's memories being a bit better than actual performance. Still love him.....in a manly way:smiley:

I found Ray maddening as a qb at Rutgers--especially that shovel pass thing he did

There were many times I was in the stands screaming for Fortay

That said, he is an amazingly loyal son and supporter of Rutgers and that's why I love him

The guy is ******* great. Loyal son. And just adds Jersey to the commentating.

Ridiculous post. No one is saying Anything about Lucas compared to Teel or Nova. They're talking about him as an announcer. If a fraction of our guys loved RU the way Ray does our whole program would benefit. Plus I would MUCH rather hear Ray broadcast our games than some ESPN stuffed shirt pronouncing names wrong, talking about past turmoil, and dropping SEC references every 5 minutes. That's our "love affair" with Lucas.

PS - he was so overrated that he actually had an NFL career (Teel was 3rd string and never saw the field and Nova is outside looking in... So I guess Lucas fooled everyone but you)

Big fan of Ray! Plum - Nova was better then Lucas , what the .... ? Not even close. Teel (who was great) had a helluva lot of talent on that field with him.
