The problem is finding one who gets along with the major booster and the legislature well enough to be able to go to them and ask for funding for the unending new projects and improvements. We have never had an AD that was as good in those respects before Tanner.
That is a huge issue and concern that many on here overlook.
This is possibly true, although I would give Hyman higher marks as an administrator. Hyman not only hired Staley, but he knowingly took the ire for implementing business measures odious to many, but which had to be adopted if we were ever going to move into the 21st Century as a program.

It's likely we've been through the worse of Ray via the Muschamp hire. Beamer threw a life raft by generating enough excitment in the football program for most to move on. It's also probably safe to assume that any hiring at this point is done by committee.

Imagine hiring an outsider AD at this point in time during the NIL transition when everyone is scrambling for increased dontations? We might as well take advantage of items Ray excels at - relationships and fundraising.

It's all about Shane. As Shane goes, so goes Tanner. Everything else is chicken crap. This is the SEC. When they say, "It just means more", they are talking about football.
I feel like we heard this tune before with Muschamp, though I personally have more faith in Shane.

Yeah, and Muschamp had already done the same thing at Florida. Not to mention that 8-win season was the ugliest 8 wins I can recall.

Agree that Hyman was very good at administration and planning. Tanner’s skill set is different but necessary. It would be nice to find an AD who has both.
