Especially by the first kickoff of the season on Aug 31..
somebody will step up. We've got a couple of potential difference makers coming in the fall and we should never ever underestimate what a football savvy walk on with a lot of want to can do to help his team. I'm not at all worried about finding a bigger back if that's what Frost thinks we need.

Unless something changed with Jaylin, he's not going to be a power back. He is a beautiful runner, like a gazelle, but power wasn't his strong suit from High School. If he can make it a little bit part of his game, that would really help him in my opinion. He has a good frame.

Our RB depth is poor on an optimistic day! I realize we have some dudes either not on campus, dealing with some stuff off campus or needing to gain 25lbs! How are we not pushing hard for a highly rated RB? The door is WIDE open which I would think would be a big positive for a kid looking to be on the field in yr 1!
Not worried about it. We are thin now yes. Come fall we will be ok especially if Washington is good to go.

Alot of bodies. Alot of potential. Alot of question marks.

Washington - legal troubles, but prob ok, extremely talented
Mills - eligibilty still in question
Bradley - who knows
Johnson - small, very talented
Thompkins - coming off 2 blown ACLs
Mazour - has never really done anything
Belt - ?
Grad Transfer - rarely work out
Jones - small, more a receiver
Robinson - small, more a receiver

If Mills doesnt qualify and Bradley proves not to be a D1 back then Frost will really have to mix and match.

Really need Mills to qualify: need a bruiser for BIG10 play.
Hopefully Mills will make it here for next season but if he doesn't, maybe we can use a big back already on the roster.

Austin Hemphill. 5'11, 225 (I had to look him up. I know nothing about him)

We've got options. People need to understand that a guy like Jeff Kinney probably had similar speed to some of our walk on backs coming out of high school. We have options.

People need to realize that the offensive line is what makes offenses tick, regardless of scheme.
Running back is important and necessary, obviously. But frosts offense puts so much pressure on a defense that a rb needs to make one read and make it fast. Washington excelled at athleticism, but ozigbo thrived because he made those reads and could hit them without hesitation and with ample power and explosiveness.
We can find this back, I think.

Frost needs to be studying those 3rd and 4th down plays this offseason. Many of them were not truly read plays, but developed as one for masking purposes. Either martinez sucked at them and could only do them on 1st or 2nd down, or he didnt have the option of pulling.
