I didn't knock up any baby mamas in college so I guess yeah I would do it differently, and this is his 2nd kid with her, 3rd overall for her.
I didn’t respond to you . Obviously she is a ***** and I would question what really happened.

Sounds like he scratched her up pretty good. They released a new mugshot of Nelson

I think OP used RB1 since he was RB1 for the bowl game.
As for this coming season, I think Rule will end up RB1 but I don't think he will start out as RB1.

Also, agree with you regarding him.

YOUNG MEN!! STOP MESSING WITH WOMEN WHO HAVE BABY DADDIES ALREADY, ESPECIALLY AT A YOUNG AGE!

Can't tell you how many Marines I've seen get in these same situations and it ruins their career; some of them it ruined their lives.
Sure but at least you know she’s a goer

Could not agree more. Why so many men continue to mess with women who already have kids is so fukcing stoopid and beyond me. Hook up? No probs, but do not get serious and do not add to her collecrion.

Here come the "I married a lady with 3 kids that were not mine and I love them like they are my own...and she is my best friend" posts.

Meanwhile the guy typing that post is also googling stuff about how it takes to "fall asleep" when your car is running in the garage with the door closed.

J Sims used to hang out in my dorm room. Dude was a mystery. He was TOTALLY jacked, never had a shirt on, would play video games with us all the time, no one knew how old he was but he was old enough to buy booze (he was such a funny drunk, like, two shots of Mad Dog 20/20 and he would be drunk)...no one knew where he went to high school...it was amazing.
James was one hell of a good dude. He actuaĺly went to NU later after hs graduation, partially because he was helping out his brother, his brother's wife, and their kid. I worked with him in Omaha.
Obviously, he went by Jay instead of James after he went to Lincoln. James....if you're reading this, I owned you in Tecmo Bowl, though. 😁

As a Freshman, Ahman Green hung out at our house a bit, too. Think Animal House. That pretty much describes the first few years of college for me. I think they just gave me my degree so I would leave. 🤣

More question marks now for an already very weak RB room. Our RB coach is a sh$t recruiter. Worst coach on the team. Our offense is a huge question mark going into the season. We have very little talent at RB and an overhyped turnover machine at QB. Defensive line still questionable as well. Could be a brutal season.
You cited two positions without a lot of portal additions. Past history tells me that portal additions usually does nothing to guarantee that a position group will be worth a damn. Tons of money spent though.

Nelson showed well when given PT last season, but is apparently an angry idiot. What this has to do with Barthel other than him getting a lightly recruited player ready to take reps in the Big 10 is a mystery to me. Somehow Nelson's stupidity is a fault of Barthel to some of you.
Improvement in Oline play, if it emerges, will be much more important to the run game than whether Malachi Nelson takes a snap next year.

Barthel is one of those Teflon people who no matter how poorly they perform, they always seem to slide by with no one noticing.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone fault Barthel for Nelson assaulting and battering his baby momma. They’re blaming Barthel for having a bare empty RB room with next to no production/experience and not getting a guy from the portal.

This is so true in every line of work.

I worked with these two girls years ago. Both were late all the time, every single day. Late to work.

One got called in and canned...the other just kept moving on up.

And that was the case the prior year. Not sure when I posted, but some weeks before the season I posted that EJ would get over 1000 yds rushing. Few on the board were in agreement, and many of us though that it was a travesty they didn't pay for Char-Mar. Nelson may be leaving the team, but the coaching staff is high on him and he was one of the few bright spots in the bowl game. They like Mozee as well and Rule had a good spring by all accounts. I suspect that this is less of an issue with the quality of the RBs on the roster and more the fact that those complaining like to use assistant coaches as whipping boys and Barthel is a favorite when it comes to that. In the time that Barthel has been on the staff, running back play has actually improved, certainly compared to whatever the hell Frost and Held were doing.

I have been banging the drum that Barthel should be let go since the end of the 2024 season. This thread indicates that more are coming around to that idea. I want Rhule to hold these coaches accountable when they are just coasting, but he doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Speaking of which, why are Satterfield and Foley still here?

Your 'banging the drum' doesn't mean you're right. Neither does more people on here agreeing with you.

The biggest issue is Pat Stewart he doesn’t think running backs are a priority. Again the problem is when you hire your gm from a pro team. I’ve been a supporter of Coach Rhule but some of his decisions are about as bad as Scott losts decisions

Well Barthels ability to coach or recruit is highly susceptible to scrutiny. It hasn't been great.

Exactly. On the other hand, it is clear Rhule is the ultimate culprit here. In the era of NIL you can’t recruit quality athletes at any position without money. Rhule has refused to cough up money for a running back. So Barthel is working under a handicap.

I’m sure the RB coach was retained so he can be the scapegoat this year for all the problems now that Donnie is gone. Rhule seems to always keep crappy coaches too long so he can then fire them one at a time and claim more progress is being made.
