Forcing a player to donate to charity the equivalent amount of a booster’s gift? Good luck with that.
Why go after these one and dones? A messForcing a player to donate to charity the equivalent amount of a booster’s gift? Good luck with that.
Yeah, the kid's going to make $100 Million in coming years, no way he can afford to donate $11,500 to charity.Forcing a player to donate to charity the equivalent amount of a booster’s gift? Good luck with that.
That's not the point.Yeah, the kid's going to make $100 Million in coming years, no way he can afford to donate $11,500 to charity.
The horror!
The point is, it is silly that the kid has to attend college for a year before going to the NBA. The sooner the NBA and the Players Association eliminate this collective bargaining agreement forcing this to happen the better. The NCAA is wasting their time on this issue. That's not the point.

You are right. The can do whatever they want they just can't go to the NBA ( or the G league?). Tough row to hoe for an 18 or 19 year old kid to play in Croatia for a year though......I could be be wrong but I don't believe they HAVE to go to college for a year. They can play overseas for that year.
And they can play in the G-League. The G-League now offers a "Select Contract" of $125,000 for that season for elite high school grads who would rather earn a paycheck than the "privilege" of one year at a university they never intend to graduate from.I could be be wrong but I don't believe they HAVE to go to college for a year. Wonder why kids even bother with college when they can do the G-League then......particularly one expected to be a #1 choice like this guy.And they can play in the G-League. It's still kind of stupid that they have to wait a year, though. I agree with Fitzphile on this one; get rid of that stupid rule.
