I saw one MMA match. It was on regular broadcast instead of PPV early on and I indulged prurient curiosity. I think one of the combatants was "Kimbo Slice", but I do remember a bloated ear belted and releasing a gusher of blood. I gave up watching football a decade ago or so ago, Steve Smith and Tim Shaw were the "last straws" in pretending that CTE and other neurological issues were a natural outcome of the game, rather than just a remote possibility. How much more danger is there when the objective is a "knockout", which is best achieved by punching the skull to induce rotation that the brain can't keep up with, as it is suspended in liquid.
I also though Jason Nolf was likely to persist on the world/Olympic stage, but he seems to have moved on to something else as well.
