Just had a massive 55 acre 92 house development voted down by the public in our township. It happens quite frequently. I’m sure they’ll tweak it and figure something else out eventually.
Exactly, if OP thinks developers get everything they want, Tim Haymaker and Dudley Webb would beg to vehemently disagree.
Lexington has very strict Urban Service boundary which 95% of the builders/developers hate, but it has maintained the character of Fayette County for generations now, while the town has grown from 150,000 to 350,000 since I was a kid, so IMO at least, has been largely successful.
Lexingtonians just need to either A) accept more density and allow developers more leeway as to means and methods of how to build; or B) expand subdivisions further and further outside the urban core, which I would not support (and think I am in the majority). Hell the Chevy Chase crowd showed up in force to oppose the Kroger renovation (not new construction) at Euclid Avenue where the store has been located since 1977.
I mean, the NIMBY folks need to give it a rest every now and then. They can sure tell you what they oppose, but never seem to show up to support any other project either.
