Catholic, Weddington, Cuthbertson, Sun Valley, Monroe all in one conference is the best 3A conference in the state. You go undefeated in that conference and you are almost a lock for a state title.

Large gates too. Many of those games used to be CC rivalries or already are. Very excited!

Good info, thanks. Will the new school offer football?
Not sure. It opened I believe in 2011 and it has "Club Football", not quite sure what that entails though. They only have 200-300 kids right now. I do know they are a member of the NCHSAA, but seem to be an independent as of now.
Their principal is a Catholic grad who taught at CC for a number of years, he will get the athletic program going there in due time.

CC14- is the new Catholic high school called Christ the King?
Yes it is. Off HWY 73 I think it's mailing address is actually Kannapolis. I could be wrong on that. Very nice campus with lots of room for expansion of the school and athletic facilities.

Not sure about that Chopper. They are competing with schools like Community School of Davidson, Pine Lake Prep, North Meck, Lake Norman Charter, Hopewell, and Catholic for football players.
Not sure they'll be 1A champs truthfully. It is made up of mostly kids from St Mark's Catholic School which I attended and a number of those kids who are good at football are not going to Christ The King. They're going elsewhere because they want to win.
It'll be interesting that is for sure.

Let me also say by competing I don't mean literally, but kids look at other schools and CTK and the chance to win right now is far grater at those schools I just mentioned. Yes, even Hopewell.
