Does anyone know how the realignment will be in the SWSC? I think I heard somewhere that Joliet is going to a different conference, which one? And is the rest of the conference staying intact with LWN out of the picture?

Both Joliets (Joliet West and Joliet Central) are headed to the Southwest Prairie Conference (2 Oswegos, 4 Plainfields, Romeoville, Minooka) for 2016. No word yet on any moves to replace (or any other exits from) LWN in the SWSC.

That's good for Joliet, hoping they have some more success there and build on something. So if two schools are leaving the Blue, and one leaves the Red are they going to leave it unbalanced? Or is the Blue going to add another school?

I heard they will leave it unbalanced and play crossover games. I have heard that LWW will be playing HF next year and Bradley is off of their schedule. Bolingbrook has posted a schedule with Bradley, Thornwood and LWC on it. It does not seem like any additional teams will be added.

The BOE reconsidering the closing of North is not happening. If the closing of North does not improve their financial situation enough closing West is a possibility.

Does Homer Glen (Has Homer Glen) ever tried to establish their own high school, or has it been generally satisfied with being zoned to Lockport?

Yes, there have been many attempts to build an additional high school in Homer Glen prior to the recession and housing crash but all of the referendums failed. I live in Homer Glen and was in favor of building a new high school in Homer Glen at the time but seeing what has happened in the Lincolnway district I am now glad that those referendums failed. Lockport Township High School is a very good school, I have two sons that went to school there and both of them have done very well for themselves. I can't speak for all but I am satisfied with Lockport Township High School.

Yeah Lockport is actually the only Will County school to make some US News Report ranking (#9 public HS in Illinois per wikipedia). Had the privilege of supervising an HG/Lockport alum in my summer internship program af few years back.
