I wouldn’t say EVERY team - but luck DOES play an important roll in most title runs ...

I would add West Point and Chilhowie to that list. WP doesn’t have experience playing at that level but they seem to be playing their best ball now. Chilhowie has been to the big game and understands the path to get there. The other three have the pedigree so there is that.

I can make an argument for WC, Northumberland and my surprise pick PM. All three have played good at times with NHS having the better record but I could argue with slightly easier competition than WC. WC plays one of the toughest schedules in 1A with Appomattox and Gretna year in and out. PM played three tough games to start the season then handled their business for the most part.

It really is up in the air in my opinion. There will be two lower seeds advance to the regional finals. I think WP and PM win this week on the road to take another step.

I would agree but things don’t usually go chalk all the way through. If so then we can’t argue with the rating system ever. There is always talk of teams overlooked or not getting the respect they deserve but it usually balances out.

A surprise team will step up. Probably not a surprise to their supporters but to all of us that have this all figured out, lol.

The reason I didnt list Chilhowie is IMO I dont think they have a realistic shot. Yes there undefeated and whipped everybody in the playoffs last year except for Galax which in my opinion was the better team but the better team doesnt always win. But I dont think they have the physicality to play with Essex or Riverheads. IMO only Galax has the beef to play with the A/B winner. Yes Chilhowie was 10-0 in the regular season but who have they played? Galax has the better resume as does Essex and Riverheads. Unless they can pick up some free agents I dont give Chilhowie much of a chance if they make it to the big dance especially if they play Essex or Riverheads. Those 2 are just too physical. IMO they dont get by Galax but you know what they say about opinions.

Physicality is certainly a part of it so I get where you are coming from. But I don’t think the Red team is as physical as in the past few years. We will see if it comes down to Essex and RH on the side. I really think WP has enough to take care of region A. Clarke County is no joke and they played them straight up so I say they have a sluggers chance. Another point is that Essex was getting destroyed between the tackles Friday night and if the talk on here is true about WP’s stud RB’s, then if that matchup happens it could get ugly. Of course Northumberland and W&L will have to comply for that to happen, lol. We will know for sure about all these matchups sometime between 9-9:30.

I understand that's your opinion but have you seen Chilhowie play this year? I have seen Gakax play. While Galax is a really good team they don't have the beef that they normally do. Chilhowie is a very physical team. They have grown up a lot from last year and gotten alot stronger in the trenches. They didn't have to pick up any free agents but that's the fun of it, several people don't give them a chance. Luckily, the Warriors use the negativity to fuel their road to Salem. IMO I think they could give any team play regional finals a run for their money. Sometimes you can go by resumes but sometimes you can't.

Its great to get on here and give our opinions and debate about the teams. One thing for sure the proof will be in the pudding here in about 3 weeks.
