Realistically, what happens here on out?

So according to warrennolan, as of this morning they’ve got UK going 10-20. Being swept at Florida and against Tennessee. Sweeping South Carolina and losing the series against Auburn. It’s interesting that their prediction model has Kentucky losing to Tennessee Tech.

I find it hard to believe that we sweep anyone, or that we get swept by anyone other than UT. To me, it is just difficult to get sweeps. So, I think the best case scenario is that we take 2 of 3 from Florida, Auburn, and USC and steal a game from Tennessee. That gives us 13 wins in the league. That, in my opinion, is highly unlikely.

Realistically, I think we get swept by UT and probably, at best, win one of those other 3 series. Which would be 4 more wins to give us 10 total.

Most realistic worst case scenario, IMO, is that we get swept by Tennessee and then lose every other series to give us 9 wins total.

A wildcard on this will also be the last weekend and what happens if we find ourselves solidly in last place, or unable to win enough to get into the SEC tournament. Will that make the team lose their fight? If we have something to play for, will that extra motivation in their faces help to change things?

I think realistically we get to ten wins and thats it. This Florida series is an enigma. I know Florida is down a little bit. I sorta feel like this series will be similar to the Vandy series.

Well, our health will be a big factor. Who do we have starting and when? I think if we get a lead in a game then they'll, as usual, lean on Guilfoil and he is typically been pretty shut down. So, the question is whether or not we can get 5+ good innings out of a starter, and if so... which? After that, it is a similar recipe with Harney being the long reliever. So, again... can we get 5+ innings from another starter to give a lead to Harney? Both have been good at shutting teams down for longer stretches to give us chances. I'm just not overly convinced we get 2 great outings from starters.

I just realized something. And it makes even more ticked off over Kentucky baseball. Louisville had never made the NCAA until 2002. And yet since, has been to 12 other tournaments and made it to Omaha 5 times.
