Personally I don’t think Dhabolt’s fit was that great. Seems likely to be a 184 and Angelo isn’t going anywhere

So the new feel good for not getting a recruit is they are still in highschool and we have no idea how they will turn out in college? Got it. Ross had a shoulder injury, injuries can happen as we know far too well. He wasn't even wearing a brace in the recent video I saw so must be doing ok. Hopefully the Mocco kid was the way to go. Ross is definitely not your ordinary heavyweight athlete though.
You’re clearly clueless so this is probably just falling on deaf ears, but yes. You can’t be upset about not landing a guy while they are still in high school. How many times have we “missed” on guys that end up doing nothing in college? People were mad about Teasdale, people were mad about Chittum, people were mad about Henson, people were mad about Sokol, the list goes on. Yes not landing Ross is a bummer as I think he’s the best HWT in these classes, but like I mentioned he’s still in high school and hasn’t wrestled in college yet. I bring up his injury history because while he might be the most talented, he might not end up having the best career because of not being able to stay healthy. You have a defeatist attitude for no reason. Things will work themselves out one way or another.

Lucas Boe?
Boe’s ranking has been plummeting, and after watching him at iron man, I see why. Plus has he even shown any interest in us? Do we save the money and scholarship to try to land 2 or 3 in the upper middle weights in 28, if any of the best have any interest in us. Too bad Singer didn’t follow Bachman to Iowa.

I guess at 74 we've got Gabe for two more years, 84 Angelo for three more years, 97 Ludington for four more years, I guess barring anything unforeseen that's some pretty good stability for a few
years.

And we still got CJ Torress for 4 years at 165/174. I think he will split time at 165 and at 174, we just don’t know how good CJ will be though. Hoping he’s like a diamond in the rough like Caliendo.

Next year we will have
165 - CJ Torres (4 years of eligibility)
174 - Gabe Arnold (2 years of eligibility) / Ty Miller (4 years of eligibility)
184 - Angelo Ferrari (3 years of eligibility) / Ty Miller (4 years of eligibility)
197 - Harvey Ludington (4 years of eligibility)
HWT - Ben Kueter (2 years of eligibility) / Michael Mocoo (4 years of eligibility and 1 redshirt/olympic shirt)

Plus, I don’t see CJ holding 165 long, so Joe Bachmann and Amato would be here by then to help out or we can look to a transfer so they can redshirt.

Torres will have a redshirt available next year since he's greyshirting this year. Anyone know what Jarrell Miller's plans are longer term. He's currently at Iowa Central (JUCO); is he planning two years there and then joining his brother at Iowa??

Announced on his instagram he’s committing on the 20th
Thought we had a better shot at Dhabolt, an Iowa kid, than him, so now I have no idea who we may add. How many more 2027 kids do we want? Only looking at certain weights now or just best guy available at any weight? I think like Duffy, Regan is better than his ranking, especially since he slid in the recent Flo rankings, not sure where Willie has him?

Regan announces in a week, so my best guess is him.
Definitely not a weight needed but if the staff could make that traffic jam workout & everyone happy I'd definitely be happy with him. I'd love to see our next commit be a projected 174-184 guy

Just trying to have discussions that dont involve drama with Pat
I’ll be honest outside of dhabolt and Raegan I don’t know who Iowa is currently recruiting in the 27 class, and obviously dhabolt off the table. Things somewhat crowded at Raegan’s weight so hard telling at this point

With Mizzou coaches just visiting him and him announcing he's gonna commit seems like Mizzou but no idea

The other 3 teams could almost promise a starting spot as freshman or redshirt freshman. PSU and Taylor seem to convince guys to come fight for a spot against other blue chips, so we need to be able to.

@WillieTheBrain where do you see Joey Bachmann projected at in college? 157 or 165?

Who would seem more fitting for 165, Sonny Amato or Joey Bachmann?

I don’t think we would ever see Bachmann vs Bo ever again after this school year. Bo is either a 141/149 in college and Bachmann will probably be heavier.

Also, heard Zeb interviewed Bo after the finals match and he had nothing but good to say about Bachmann. Everyone has an opinion on Bo, good or bad, but at the end of the day he is a good sport and wish him the best. Joe did good in his match against him and will get better at hand fighting with the help of T&T.

Anyone ripping on Bachman performance has to remember Bo just beat the number 2 D1 149 by 10 points, 2 more than he beat Bachman by. Joy looked bigger and ripped compared to Bo, Bachman looked smaller and more physically immature than Bo, and is still a minor. I think finding a way to keep it to only 8 point loss was a moral victory for him, but I know he expects real victories every time out. When he physically matures, a match with Bo should be a toss up.

THIS!! Side note. Bachman is a stud no matter the outcome of a match against Bo. He may never wrestled Bo again. He may wrestle him several more times and lose all of them. He may start closing the gap and eventually pass Bo. In all of the scenarios both guys are studs. Bo may be near a finished product, but who knows? Bachman certainly looks like he has plenty of filling out and physical maturity ahead of him.

Hopefully we get a good pipeline with faith christian. One guy to keep any eye on from fca is Asher Bacon. Kid is a stud and is ranked in the country as a freshman at 157. Gave the 4th ranked kid in the country Zeno Moore everything he could handle at Ironman and was winning going into the 3rd eventually losing 7-4.

Again: Watch Bo vs Marcus Blaze. The blueprint is there. Blaze just stands there and takes the entire kitchen sink until Bo gets too loose. And then, 4 points, Blaze.

Bo is like a big *** rock at the top of a hill. If he gets rolling, good luck. But if you’re a smaller rock that just won’t budge, he can’t do much.

The way things are today, I put no stock in any athlete's loyalty to a program, years in advance. Wait and see and hope for the best.
I get what you're saying but as far as decommitments go it hasn't really been an issue at Iowa really in any sport & outside of the bassett saga our wrestling commits have stayed pretty loyal over the years. I know things can happen but those boys & their families really seem to like Iowa a lot

Yeah, Chittum is really the only other recent one and I stick by that being TNT watching enough of him to know he wasn't worth what his dad wanted...
