Who knows who even will be available especially if we’re looking specifically for grad transfers. We’re assuming Kenny is a 33 and ready to go as a true freshman. The only Jr’s ranked top 10 at 33 are Evan frost and Jacob van Dee and they’re not coming. Evan Mougalin is ranked 13 and is the only other junior in the top 20 and he’s a Penn guy so he’s not coming. Anyone beyond that wouldn’t even be worth looking into at this point
Maybe Bailey returns to his ideal weight. If not for Drake, he would probably be there this year. Then you start looking at 41s for a transfer.

tOSU has money.
Is this another variation of, “those billionaires are just cheating?”

With Bassett, miller, Siedel, and a few other studs already on board, where does Vtech get the money? Maybe school has pledged a lot of rev share to wrestling??
It’s not a crazy idea to think they are using revenue sharing. Maybe VTech has some studs on board and other studs see a place where they can get in on the ground floor of building a new OSU/Iowa/PSU. There is no other way to fund the wrestlers without running afoul of NIL rules. There is no other money.

Bastida didn't look bigger than Ben just way faster and more athletic. Football is an athlete's game at the D1 level. We have seen very good college heavyweights attempt to play football and some have made it. I think he could eventually get some playing time but he is much more likely to be a star in wrestling. Iowa high school football is not too great. If he were the best linebacker coming out of the state of Texas you might have something. He can be a national champion in wrestling.
Batisda is also 26 years old.

What he said is true. People wouldn't run off at the mouth like they do if there was a possible black eye coming. The future is great but there are some things from the past that we need to bring with us.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might be the one getting the black eye.

Looks like he wants to stay out east. If not Iowa, hope he goes to Rutgers. He will have to run the B10 gauntlet every year too then. tOSU spends more than anyone on football. Bet they are up there in wrestling too.
My son read somewhere that tOSU is out because they don’t want to give him his NIL demands. If true, that’s great. Heard it was in the 7 figure range but that may not be true. If he’s demanding a huge NIL that probably ruled us out with the young studs we have and have coming in 27 and 28, hoping to add 2-3 more in 28. With that said, is there going to be anything more 27 recruits or is recruiting talk going to be dead until July , after we can contact the 28 class.

Only thing not adding up is everyone knows Iowa always offers the most than guys choose to go elsewhere.

Maybe with Iowa and tOSU having quite a few other young big recruits coming in they just didn’t think he was worth the investment?

Even though my little “joke” sucked I think it went over your head. I was getting at the fact Pat and other douches always try to say Iowa offers recruits the most NIL and they still go elsewhere cause they just don’t want to wrestle for Iowa.
As far as not worth the investment I think a guy would be crazy to think Knox isn’t worth the investment. If a team can get him they go after a kid or this caliber!

I thought those 7 figure NIL days were over?

I did also. I don’t know if they can combine NIL and revenue sharing to get him close to what he wants at a place like NC and V tech. I don’t think he any interest in us, and tOSU apparently doesn’t feel they need him that bad. Kohl really needs a blue chip to try to get some recruiting momentum.

Had a penn state friend tell me we are going to target the Larken boys & Garvin after this season & says they'll all be Hawks. Anyone else think thats a possibility? I know the Larkins are at weights we're bringing a lot of guys in at but they'd be in their junior & senior years before any of them are on campus & Harvey could possibly be our 165 next year. Would be huge if we could pull it off

I remember a time in the last offseason when hearing that the Larkin brothers were shopping around; but I think that is long gone and don’t see them leaving.

As a huge fan of Iowa and wrestling, I hope they stay at ASU and aren’t poached.

Since Garvin and Daniel Cardenas are seniors, it would be interesting if they enter the portal as a graduate transfer. One of them manning 165 would help us a lot next year👀

Why would Sealy at PSU not be a possibility at 165. Did he dislike Iowa that much or is he a top 10 pfp guy content with being a room guy at PSU ?

Bailey probably never seeing 133 again...and if he doesn't get his stuff together we might be looking for a 133 and a 141 for next year.
