As we covered last weekend, Duffy (ranked #11 at 144lbs by Flo) was among a group of official visitors in town for the Iowa/Minnesota game.
One of them was his high school teammate, Paul Kenny (#2 at 126lbs, #8 OVR in the Class of 2027).
Here they are on the field at Kinnick before the Hawkeyes lambasted the Gophers:

Love the GIF - but I do not have any inside info on Kenny's recruitment.![]()
Now why would Tanner post that?
I like the connection, but I also liked McMullen connection to Bassett, and we know how that worked out. Hopefully both can over deliver on expectations, but would also like their more can’t miss friends.Welcome Bobby! The connection to the Kennys is not a bad thing... Keep the train rolling...
It actually worked out quite well for those with amnesia. McMullen committed and then Bassett committed....and then Miller would have committed. Just because something unpredictable occurred with the Bassetts, it doesn't change the fact that the boys visited Iowa together and then both committed. If Bassett got hit by a bus (unpredictable) would you say that recruiting McMullen didn't work out? I'm embarrassed for you that I had to explain this.I like the connection, but I also liked McMullen connection to Bassett, and we know how that worked out. When will it be said and done?Gonna be fun read from the dolts on here when this is said and done.
Plus McMullen is still coming which is a positive. He comes from a good family and will be nothing but a benefit to have in the program. People may not know but they traveled back to Iowa and his mom raised money and jumped for the Arctic Plunge last year.It actually worked out quite well for those with amnesia. It already is. When it’s the publics business is up to the kids and families. When will it be said and done?![]()
Gonna be a fun read from the dolts on here when this is said and done.
It will not be before or after its said. Or right before its done. But right after its said and done. When will it be said and done?![]()
Disagree. I make this board a fun read at any given time.

Take it Bach, Mann.Gonna be a fun read from the dolts on here when this is said and done.
Well you didn’t have to explain it because no one asked you to. My point was I’m tempering my enthusiasm some compared to when McMullen committed before Bassett last year because of how it turned out. I think it’s good he committed, but I’m holding off thinking that almost guarantee’s Kenney’s to be hawks , even if they commit. It actually worked out quite well for those with amnesia. Actually the McM and Bassett connection paid off... considering BB committed to Iowa. The fact it fell apart after other "stuff" went down doesn't diminish that it probably helped Bo initially choose IA.I like the connection, but I also liked McMullen connection to Bassett, and we know how that worked out. Well somebody has to be "that guy" you are 4x undefeated national champ in thatDisagree. I make this board a fun read at any given time.
Hopefully a rising star, #11 weight class is not blue chip.Willie updated his rankings as well and has Duffy 11 at 144

I've heard one other name that could pop at any moment.I keep hearing from a usually pretty solid source that 3 guys have verbally committed but neither duffy or calkins are among the names I've heard
That's what you're missing because nobody said that it "almost guarantees" anything. What reasonable people saying that it is definitely a positive (and not a negative) that a friend and teammate visit together and then one commits (almost always the lesser wrestler). Case in point, McMullen/Bassett. Now if we said that McMullen committing guarantees Bassett will actually one day wrestle 5 years for the Hawks, never decommit, never get injured, then you have a reason to be even less optimistic with Kenny.Well you didn’t have to explain it because no one asked you to. I like your positive attitude and I'm glad we're finally starting to lock in some good recruits, but until I start seeing multiple top 10 or top 15 PFP recruits I'm thinking we're doing better but I don't know about this potentially being a "very special class" just yet. If we want to compete for it all we've got to get mutiple top dogs, not just some of the big dogs.I heard we are sitting very, very good with 3 other recruits and a 4th still has a few more visits to make. This could be a very special class.
Hey douche, before you critique anything, why don’t you wait until the class is finalized. You obviously have no idea who else is close to committing or else you’d never post your nonsense. BTW, love Nashville.I like your positive attitude and I'm glad we're finally starting to lock in some good recruits, but until I start seeing multiple top 10 or top 15 PFP recruits I'm thinking we're doing better but I don't know about this potentially being a "very special class" just yet. Do you realize how you pepper every comment with this doom's day attitude? "That's great but it doesn't guarantee anything, that's great but until, that's great we got the big dogs but until we get the top dogs, etc. ". It's annoying.I like your positive attitude and I'm glad we're finally starting to lock in some good recruits, but until I start seeing multiple top 10 or top 15 PFP recruits I'm thinking we're doing better but I don't know about this potentially being a "very special class" just yet. That ranking is almost 6 months old he will be moving up a bunch.Duffy ranked 186 in the class of 2026. Anyone know what Calkins is ranked?
Actually I disagree. I’m not negative or doom’s day with our current group and our current recruiting. I think we’re doing better this year than we have in several WRT recruiting and applaud TNT for the efforts they’ve made. Had we not lost Bo due to whatever issues caused that insanity I too think this could be a really special class. But **** happened, again IMO to no fault of TNT. I like our guys and the transfers we’ve brought in and think we will be top 3 this year and in the foreseeable out years. Not sure where you read doom and gloom from my post; I merely said for it to be a really special class we’re going to need some of those top dogs, but just the same I’m glad we’re getting some big dogs.Do you realize how you pepper every comment with this doom's day attitude? And what in the world did I say to make you call me a douche? I’ve been on the team bus throughout and like the direction of our program and have also been on the TNT team bus. So I’m somewhat intrigued that a couple of you would lash out merely because I applauded our recruits but opined that for this to be a “really special class” we need to land a couple of the top dogs. I didn’t bash anyone or anything about our program, our coaches or our/their efforts.Hey douche, before you critique anything, why don’t you wait until the class is finalized.
