yep, just came over to post that; here's a link for those that like proof.

Am I the only one the wishes for Bono to get fired so Wisconsin could actually become moderately relevant in March again? The state has talent, and the right coach could work with the Askren brothers and get a little jolt of talent out of the gate...Bono is just... Not it.

Dom Deputy NC St commit beat Kenny at the Clarion open 8-5 OT at 133. Dom has been 2 2 1 in PA AA he's a SR. Kenny gave up a stall point on top for not mat returning with :03 remaining. That point forced OT not sure why but the video stops and OT isn't available for some reason

Nash,

if you speak the truth and dont act like we’re shitting rainbows and butterflies, people call you negative and insult you on this board. Pretend the two new guys landed are Spencer Lee and Brent Metcalf like clones. Only then will your comments be approved by the tin foil hatters
The fact right now is that our 2026 class, while full of wonderful young men and wrestlers, is objectively not as good as our main rivals, even after these commits. Of course we all hope that changes and it may change soon. No reason for anyone to get their panties in a bunch over Nashville’s comments.

As of right now the 2026 class basically has depth/ project guys and 1 blue chip in Mocco. 2027 class has two guys ranked around 30 overall so solid guys but neither blue chips at this point. As usual a lot of work to do.

interesting that Kenny wrestled 133. he's not very big.

he also lost to Marcel Lopez, Iowa native. did he win four titles or make 4 finals or something like that?

Kenny decided to not cut to 125 and just wrestle 133 and compete. He's definitely a 125 currently

With a few recent loses, if he commits to Iowa, his ranking will really tank😉

Appreciate the insight @Corby2, I don’t have a FLO subscription, so I was curious on the match and why he was wrestling 133.

Where do you see him project at college? 133? Or you favor him more to be a 125?

He will be a 133 I think. Him going 133 tells me he's not afraid to mix it up win or lose its about competing and looking to improve. He now knows things he's gotta work on and he will go back to the room and start working. Whoever gets him will be lucky

Gotcha, appreciate the insight!

Hopefully our squad is all over him, we will need a 133 badly and there is no guarantee that we will land Sammy Sanchez. I see that Brody is one of his coaches and maybe that may help greatly; but I know nothing of the ties that he has with programs.

Paul Kenny would be a huge get, especially because of his Younger brother also being a great prospect. That’s a guarantee 1-2 Punch.

Stunning to me that Bono can land a single recruit…. Let alone still have that job.

Its all Jon Reader. He's very likeable, super nice and a good coach. My guess he is the only heartbeat they have in Madison's wrestling program and that enough for that AD. Could easily fire Bono tomorrow and just move up Reader & Tony up and the program would be better off. Reader could move on to greater things as a head coach elsewhere without Bono. Always thought it was odd he's been loyal to Bono this long. But again, may be too nice.

It IS odd. and not helping him in his search for a HC opportunity elsewhere.

Genuine question, if Reader is such a good coach then why is Wisconsin one of the worst developing programs? I can’t think of anyone who improved there and many seem to improve after leaving.

Bono got another extension this summer his contract goes until May 31 2030. With rev share now being a thing no university is firing a coach they've to pay

Because Bono.

So Bono runs the room for mid to upper weights too and was the reason Hamidi’s career had stalled prior to his transfer? I would think Reader would be more involved in his development than Bono.
