Yeah. I bet you had the same heady quips after Bo and Miller committed too. This comment just got sharted all over, with the big news last night.
Miller never committed. Now please carry on being a moronYeah. I bet you had the same heady quips after Bo and Miller committed too.
Yeah I was happy about that, because I’m a fan. Then they left and I got sad and a little angry, because I’m a fan. Then I found out what happened and I was actually happy that we had coaches that could stand on moral ground.Yeah. I bet you had the same heady quips after Bo and Miller committed too.
I don't see Regan or Grajeda coming now those weights are loaded.Since the title of this threat is recruiting, let's go back to that. So who's next into the fold? Still some names out there that we are/were apparently going after.
Thanks for your take on that. Now what about the Dhabolt kid. Upper weight... Chances?I don't see Regan or Grajeda coming now those weights are loaded.
The only weights without a recruit in line are 174/184 Dhabolt fits that mold and his dad loves iowa, if not Dhabolt Mario Hutcherson will be a target next year I'm sure.I don't see Regan or Grajeda coming now those weights are loaded.
I’m curious, how are our chances with Dhabolt? I thought OkieSt. or ISU were leading in his recruitment. The only weights without a recruit in line are 174/184 Dhabolt fits that mold and his dad loves iowa, if not Dhabolt Mario Hutcherson will be a target next year I'm sure.
I believe Dhabolt is definitely in the mix. He’s a big kid and only 16 years old. Hard to predict where he will be weight wise. Iowa needs to land him for 74/84. Okie State and Iowa State are after him as well.Iowa is still in the mix . I had said awhile ago I didn't believe it was. Time will tell
With the guys they have coming in not sure where Sanchez fits. Hutcherson is a young guns kid and has been to Iowa city in the past he will definitely be a kid they go after.I believe Dhabolt is definitely in the mix. He’s a big kid and only 16 years old. Hard to predict where he would be. Iowa needs to land him for 74/84. Okie State and Iowa State are after him as well.
Next year Iowa needs to be all over Sammy Sanchez and Hutcherson.
Yeah but Sanchez is a “can’t miss” type of target. If you can get him, you get him and let it sort itself out. But, I agree. With the guys they have coming in not sure where Sanchez fits. Hutcherson is a young guns kid and has been to Iowa city in the past he will definitely be a kid they go after.
he would be Sean Kenny's weight, probably 125. The problem with recruiting brothers close in age, is if one leaves there is a good chance the other who is a starter leaves.Yeah but Sanchez is a “can’t miss” type of target. If you can get him, you get him and let it sort itself out. But, I agree.
Isn't he a california kid? What makes you think he would be interested in us? Taylor seems to be getting the best Cali kids now.Yeah but Sanchez is a “can’t miss” type of target. If you can get him, you get him and let it sort itself out. But, I agree.
Definitely want Hutcherson, but he's not our future 174/184. Will be lucky to hold 197 for a while, maybe a small heavy.I believe Dhabolt is definitely in the mix. Other schools are telling Dhabolt that Ferrari is maning the weight for Iowa — so don’t go there. If true, they will overlap by a year. Who knows Ferrari may go up to 97 or Dhabolt may be able to hold 74 for one year. No spot is guaranteed at any school. Hope he follows his heart to Iowa

Wouldn’t Dhabolt have the same problem at OSU with Ryder?I believe Dhabolt is definitely in the mix. He’s a big kid and only 16 years old. Hard to predict where he will be weight wise. Iowa needs to land him for 74/84. Okie State and Iowa State are after him as well.

Why do I think Ryder is a year older than Ferrari and Dhabolt would slide right in at Okie State after a redshirt year? I really like Dhabolt and hope he’s a Hawkeye.Wouldn’t Dhabolt have the same problem at OSU with Ryder?
Isn’t Sammy Sanchez being coached by a former Hawkeye?Isn't he a california kid? What makes you think he would be interested in us? Taylor seems to be getting the best Cali kids now.
I wouldn't count UNI out with Dhabolt as well. I know the family loves Doug Schwab and Max has been on national teams for years with younger Schwab and Landers.
Have Walrath now as well. I think the plan is 174 for CressellUNI has Cressell coming in at 184 also, he moved way up on the latest big board.
Kinda confused with other universities telling Dhabolt that Ferrari is manning the spot at 184 so don’t go there… Zach Ryder is also manning the spot and will be manning the sport for 184 for 4 years as well.I believe Dhabolt is definitely in the mix. A one year overlap is easily handled; a grey shirt by Dhabolt would take care of that or if he could man 174 for a year would also account for that year.Kinda confused with other universities telling Dhabolt that Ferrari is manning the spot at 184 so don’t go there… Zach Ryder is also manning the spot and will be manning the sport for 184 for 4 years as well.
When FloWrestling interviewed Ferrari recently he talked about how many universities recruited him by negatively speaking bad on Iowa. People really hate us… when you plan to recruit a high-level recruit with negatively talking about another program just shows how desperate these other programs are. Also, shows how inferior you are to another. Pathetic tbh…
Out of the 3 (Okie St., Iowa, ISU), ISU is the only other team that won’t have someone to man the 184 spot 4 years from now. That did get Jimmy Mastny, who will be 197. Dhabolt, Mastny, and Merrill would be a very solid backend of their lineup.
But I still see OkieSt. leading in his recruitment, I maybe completely wrong here though. Hope we get him, that would help us to have a steady plan for 184 after Ferrari.
Is he a MUST-GET? Just speaking a little ignorant here since I only know so much about him. Get him or not, I love the class that we landed though!
It will be very interesting to see how future lineups shake out with these future classes, especially the lil bros (Kenny and Bachman ) in 2028.A one year overlap is easily handled; a grey shirt by Dhabolt would take care of that or if he could man 174 for a year would also account for that year.
A must get? I'd say no considering Angelo has four years left and they'll be younger recruits that elevate.
As far as your other posts, I'd stack the Iowa kids 1. Schwab 2. Youngblut 3. Dhabolt, but Dhabolt could elevate a lot, he has a lot of ceiling to reach yet. Due to that ceiling and higher weight class Dhabolt will be the more sought after recruit than Youngblut.
You asked if Dhabolts father really is a big Hawk fan, the answer is yes, he is fairly active on an Iowa Wrestling Facebook fan page....very clear he's a big Hawk fan.
I would think Dhabolt is down to three programs, OSU, Iowa, ISU maybe in that order.
Wrong on his only loss being to Miller. Heck, he just lost a match a week and half ago.I would say great 74 and 84 are very hard to come by which, to me, makes Dhabolt the best recruit in Iowa this year. Not to mention he is only 16 and really hasn’t really hit his stride yet. His only loss the past 2 years has been to Melvin Miller and I believe he will close the gap.
Brody Kelly who beat Dhabolt 10-8 at PNL is a UNC commit Flo has him #17 at 175. Matscouts had him #14 in the past but he is listed as injured currently. He's #153 on matscouts SR big boardWrong on his only loss being to Miller. Heck, he just lost a match a week and half ago.
Is Caludio Torres pretty good? I dont know much about the kid but would think he's probably currently the future plan at 174Kinda confused with other universities telling Dhabolt that Ferrari is manning the spot at 184 so don’t go there… Zach Ryder is also manning the spot and will be manning the sport for 184 for 4 years as well.

I liked him as an undervalued kid before he even committed to VTU. LJ Araujo, Omar Ayoub (both Nebraska) and Torres were 3 undervalued kids I liked in that class. I think Torres could go 165 for a couple of years and bump to 174 the following two; he has decent length to him. Check out Torres freestyle match vs Cody Routledge to get an idea of his ability. Is Caludio Torres pretty good? Why didn't they visit PSU if they were locks?![]()
TNT completely showing out in recruiting. Early in their careers the Bachmann's were thought to be a PSU lock. And now with the 250 mile rule lifted????
And his gap year training at the RTC will help him get better. He's gonna be just fine at 165 next year. If Gabe can make 174 Iowa will be fine. I would like to see Gabe make 174 this year hopefully that happensI liked him as an undervalued kid before he even committed to VTU. Excited to see CJ compete! Feel like he is going to surprise a lot of people. Wonder if he will be at any opens this year. And his gap year training at the RTC will help him get better. Just watched it. He's pretty slick & quick. Had a couple impressive takedowns against routledge who is goodI liked him as an undervalued kid before he even committed to VTU.
