he'll be fine academically. won't be an issue.
I mean he did make it into Cornell academically pretty sure he’ll make it into Iowa.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Iowa. But I was also told that the Raneys were basically a done deal so I take everything I hear with a grain of salt now when it comes to recruiting. Seems like things change often. Hell even tampering with signed and enrolled athletes is okay now-a-days. In fact that’s become an epidemic in recent years.

Shamus Reagan awesome name a great class just got even better!!!!
Is he not wrestling for McCort now? Haven’t seen him in any of the big tournaments this year. Maybe that’s why his ranking dropped from Top 20 to now 37 Flo and 40 Willie. Maybe this helps some with being able to land McCort kids even with Bassett recruiting against us. Don’t know if we have interest in the OFerrell kid who is a 175 top 10 pfp 2028 kid? Other than Sanchez, we should strictly be looking at upper middle and upper weight kids for 2028 now.

I'd guess him to Iowa may foreshadow Knox to someplace else?
I would really hope that’s not the case. Happy for Shamus but he’s ranked 37th in the class, so that shouldn’t stop us from recruiting anybody. He will have his chance to make the line up but if Knox is in you don’t tell him no over Shamus. Also this shouldn’t stop us from recruiting someone like Sammy Sanchez who is the is #1 in the class of 2028

He announced he’s transferring there in the live stream. I’m not 100% sure but I believe it’s due to PIAA not letting him compete.
From what I understand PIAA was potentially not going to allow him to compete because he transferred from Wyoming Seminary to another school in state. I heard he was considering his options ie staying at McCort and just training with them or going out of state. Apparently he chose Lake Highland Prep. I believe CJ Torres was a Lake Highland Prep kid.

Regan has the frame to get to 141/149, and still looks very young. Hard to say where these 2027 and 2028 kid land weight wise in college and who thrives and improves and who doesn’t pan out. Chittum looked like a can’t miss #1 kid coming out of high school and look at him now. He’s at Chattanooga, and not in the line up. Not sure if he’s hurt, but hasn’t lived up to the hype. Caliendo was ranked in the 50’s in high school, Buchanan not top 100, and they thrived in college.

The Raneys were basically a done deal. You didn't hear incorrectly. And then they weren't.

Boom top 50 commit I'm stoked!
All seriousness I hope he has a good time at Iowa. Congrats if it was his life's dream.
After seeing some of his matches against top competition, I think he is more talented than his current ranking. Pretty sure Flo had him as a top 20 or very close to it earlier this year. Maybe his reduced activity this fall has hurt him. Amato hasn’t wrestled much this fall, and his ranking tanked also. I looked back on 2022/2023 big boards and was surprised how many guys ranked from mid 30’s through 80’s have performed way above their high school ranking. Our own Mikey Caliendo was a mid 50’s recruit.

Losing half the starters next year. Delucca coming in for Peterson. Wouldn't miss a beat if Knox would come in for Drake. Guessing portal for Cali. Arnold for PK. Ludington for Mo. Other questions are is Williams going to pan out and is BK football or wrestling next year. Really don't have backup plans at 57 or Hwt.

Won’t Mocco be a true frosh next year? He could definitely benefit from a redshirt, but he most certainly has the pedigree to go right away if needed…

Not sure how others feel, but it wouldn’t shock me to see Block at 157 next year.

I still can’t believe he makes 149 with how tall he is.

That might precipitate the likes of Williams/Estrada heading back down to 49 - which I know some folks feel is the best weight for those guys anyway, esp. Williams.

Estrada would be so much better at 149
