Holy Cow. I wonder what the record is for decommits by a single player?

Nebraska defensive end commit Robert Porcher IV says he is visiting Michigan this weekend for its game against Illinois. Porcher IV will be joined on the visit by his father, Robert Porcher III, who played for the Detroit Lions. The two, according to the younger Porcher, are planning to take in the Michigan game on Saturday and then head to Detroit to watch the Lions take on the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Unless he told the coaches beforehand he was done making visits, I don't see this as Something to wring our hands over. Yet.

Kids take their visits all the time even after committing to the school they still sign with.

Not saying he won't flip because I have no clue... I'm just not sure how big of a concern this should be.

this is big boy recruiting ... Harbaugh was at the high school of a Alabama RB commit in California this weekend ... he MC'd the homecoming announcements

we are in on a lot high profile guys ... get used to this ... just don't want to be empty handed come signing day

We haven't stopped recruiting the DE position. It's a business. His level of commitment is a known quantity by our coaches. I imagine this will be it for his visits, but who knows. He'll be given a little time to reconfirm or we both move on entirely. The good news is we have a very good defensive line recruiter now. Our great start also allows us to get in on a lot of guys that didn't previously consider us. Defensive line still a big future concern with lots of opportunity. We are now in the "official visits to other schools after verbal is acceptable" phase of recruiting. You recruit every kid until signing day regardless of level of commitment. This is to our advantage IMO.

Michigan already has three 4* defensive ends committed .. this may be a case where Harbaugh is doing a solid for a former NFL player who plans to be in Detroit that weekend anyway

outside chance they are interested in him as a LB

This is one reason I will like the new rules on early committing as they come on board.

Porcher did tell our coaches that he will most likely take a visit or two so this really comes at no surprise. In that same sentence of "I'll be taking other visits" he also said, "I'm 100% committed to Nebraska".

With all that being said I think we're fine, but that doesn't mean we don't stop recruiting Porcher (which I believe we've stayed in constant contact with him).
