Recruiting numbers question

I know this has been discussed here before, but for those here in the know: What's NU's target recruiting class size this year? I read somewhere earlier in the year that it could be as many as 26. Today I read an article from Sam saying that number is 19. That sounds very low to me based on what I was hearing earlier. So which number is it? TIA

Depends on how many decide to transfer before the 2nd semester and if Collins turns pro.

I would quests from 22-25.

Hope the transfers go if they aren't fully on board. Need guys who want it. Get a bunch of young players in RS what the team needs. Throw in some juco kids to get to 26-28 area is fine with me.

Thanks for the replies. Sam's numbers only showed 15 players in the senior class then adding 1 for Collins declaring early then 3 for the B1G over signing rule. So you guys are saying there could be 7-10 transfers? This board is gonna be in meltdown mode if that happens! Personally, I think if that happens it can only be a good thing. We need players who want to be here but also who fit these coaches philosophies.

The 7-10 transfer numbers have been thrown out for some time. Things were still pretty intense in house cleaning 4-6 weeks ago; and that number was still coming up. Seems roster management will be pretty intense; the guys will be presented their best opportunities however. We actually have a really good football team in there ( witness the recent win over MSU and one player away from dominating Iowa.); so the coaches get it, and will keep those who are willing parts of the future. 19 is the base, assuming 3 over the limit. Will we have 5 QBs on scholarship? Doubt it. There will be roster changes to address many of our deficiencies. The mods think a full class and it's easy to see that happening.

I think the 7-10 transfers would include some from the list below that already left the program this year...

8. Jaevon Walton
9. Kevin Gladney
10. Sam Burtch (Injury related?)
11. Mauro Bondi (chose to forgo final year)

We've already had a lot of attrition, so it wouldn't take much more to make it to the 26-28 totals people have mentioned above.
