Recruiting stars mean nothing....wvu needs a personality that reflects grit...and coaches who can develop talent...along with some student athletes who believe in team and actually want to be at wvu.
No. They do mean something. Look at the top ten programs and the recruiting rankings.
Don't make something easy confusing. Those rankings matter. Why do you think WVU is rarely any good?

A better question seems to me to be "Why do you (and ALL those who share the expressed negative attitudes) not with the negative rhetoric and, simply, find another team to support? " Pick one that meets your exaggerated, and, seemingly, poorly evaluated myriad of factors related to W-L (that only criteria in which this group seems to have interest. Spare yourself the agony of the expressed deep seated disrespect and disappointment. Above all such departures would immediately lead us to fulfilling the goal of many who pay their fee to Vernon of having like minded folks distribute and discuss information/facts regarding the WVU athletic programs. I, for one, do not enjoy the worthless predictions of how bad this or that is within the program or what WILL be the fate for a particular team any given year. Take it to some other board regarding some other team for which I have NO real interest. I, an , I imagine, several others would be quite willing to compensate Vernon for the loss of revenue caused by these departures. I would welcome the improvement. AS I see it, this forum would greatly improve through the reduction imposters. (I refuse to include these in the category of 'contributors').
This clown Bruno has been the most pessimistic fan on this board back to the early days of DickRod. He claimed to be a Marshall fan in the past too. Holding your program to high standards is where the fanbase as a whole should be.
Um I never claimed to be a MOOU fan. Your memory is poor. Even in the weak BE WVU found a way to lose two or three games a year. Lets be honest with ourselves about what WVU is. It's in the second tier of programs.
Too bad the world does not revolve around your wants. It's a sports board. Get a life. Living in a disillusioned world does not change the facts about WVU's athletic status.
How many players a year does WVU have drafted especially in the top four rounds? That speaks volumes.

Are we recruiting for the NFL or student athletes? How many times have you seen athletes get a bump after they commit to certain schools? I know, players get re-evaluated but show me players committed to the blue-bloods that actually drop in * rankings. There is very llttle difference between a 5.6 and 5.8. I'll take all the 5.6 players that have an attitude (on the field) all day long.

And, I do not fill it with senseless, but quite self serving, proclamations. When inflated opinion of ones own self worth far outweighs similar care for other aspects that affect the lives of self and a multitude of others he becomes a hollow, senseless former human.
Says the guy who can not handle other peoples' opinions to the extent he wants pay Vernon to ban those who are not mindless cheerleaders. Go to the Blue Lot. Plenty of those there.
That is not the point. It takes elite talent to win conference titles. My point is WVU has very few elite football players at the moment. The OL is getting significantly stronger. The DL is getting weaker. I think the LBers are going to be an issue along with the secondary early on. The receivers look very average. The same group as last year that could not catch. This will translate into around a 7-5 maybe 8-4 season. Lose that opener and it's a long year.
You may want to rethink the star comment. Take a look at the 4 top teams every year and see what star ratings produce.
Better yet, have MODS that kick off the guys that turn post into pissing contests and think their "epic" threads make this forum enjoyable.

Ok. They have their QB. Now they need to build around him. He needs to be active in the recruiting process as well. This guy can get WVU in those rare cycles of ten win seasons.
Pissing matches between skunks do nothing to provide information about my alma mater's sports team. I flip past them while holding my nose. I want to know who will win games for WVU, starting September 4 at Maryland. Otherwise it's just guys who are NOTHING in real life and their jobs pissing on each other. So pathetic.

See ISU. Are they loaded with stars. Yet they nearly won Big 12 Championship. Only takes a great QB to give yourself a shot for playoffs.
Winning in playoffs is apparently not easy as same 3 to 4 are always in it. That means there are 126 teams not making it.
