A year ago the FBI was on the verge of busting major programs for ethics violations. The whole story seemed to disappear with a whimper. We’re in an age of being completely numbed to blatantly unethical behavior from politics to sports to Wall Street. I don’t get too worked about individual behavior but we are truly in the post-truth era where it seems like those in powerful positions can do or say anything and get away with it. I wonder how much this has to do with a program like NU, that is not going to be corrupt or blatantly unethical struggling to recruit top players. More than just academics I wonder how many special favors top recruits get at other programs that NU would not do .
