It was strange seeing Kyonte in the backfield last game (Blocking FB)
A good sign for his football future.
I wish him the best at Rutgers.
We will see after football season is finished.

He has just played in a few plays and I would be surprised if he is used more than 4 games this year.

UPENN is building a monster program and is absolutely going to dominate the Ivy League in a very short time.

I'd love to start seeing them on the RU schedule soon. Palestra is a tremendous arena and RU wrestling fans would travel en masse to Philly.

They're building a strong program and RTC. We need to get better funding for SKWC as we're falling behind.

I always wonder what drives these transfers. I didn't understand the Dean transfer since Cornell has a very good program. It seems to lack imagination, although that's probably the wrong word to use for people flocking to the same place. Are their chances that much better to achieve a NC at Penn State or is it just that Penn State is assured the NCs by the influx? Probably both.

This is the kid's 3rd college in 2 years. At this point, it's not a huge pickup. He lost some bad matches at Ohio State. Maybe he'll do better at 125 and with Cael. I just don't see him surpassing Steen or Howard.

On another note, Willie Saylor said to expect a higher number of transfers this year than in previous years.
PSU has been cursed at 125 ever since Nico left. Betancourt most likely just a workout guy but I do hope he beats Howard for the 125 spot.

The Dean brothers left Cornell because they required students to be vaccinated. Penn State doesn't require it

Would be awesome if we could lure him here so that he could be close to his brother and train with him on occasion. No better situation for him if that's what he's looking for since Princeton doesn't accept grad transfers. Wrestled at 165 for his last few years so is in a huge need spot as well.

I'd be all over Kenny Monday if I'm Goodale.

Need to get SKWC up to par with these other programs. The RTC of Penn is insane. Monday would be a huge add for RU.
I don't think we will ever be able to get the SKWC to the funding levels of some of the RTC programs. We need to keep improving it and hopefully it keeps raising funds. We need a "sugar daddy" lol. Just look at the Board of Directors at the Penn RTC! Here is one of them

And they have this guy----

I mentioned this on Tues in another thread:

Maybe Kennedy Monday wants to be close to his brother? Apparently, he has 1 or 2 years left as a grad student and is considering a return 🤷🏻‍♂️. Hard to follow as it looks like tweets keep getting deleted.

ABR is a real thing, like it or not.

The rise of UPenn is a legit threat.
ABR definitely is and won't change, but I'm not sure if that's the case here. His family is close with the Bouzakis family, so I could see him at tOSU, if he doesn't land at Princeton or UPenn. We were developing a good relationship with his dad and younger siblings going to SKWC prior to the shutdowns. I've mentioned this a few times, but SKWC not having HS practices for 2+ years has really impacted recruiting because we need to get these recruits in the room to develop relationships.

UPenn and Penn RTC are huge threats. We've discussed it on here a bunch. They decided to be competitive, like Princeton, and have a lot of $ and went all in on an RTC. We need some big donors.

Penn State maybe? Thought he posted something with them as an option. He be a perfect fit here.
Could be, but they have Alex Facundo (#2 P4P recruit from last year) coming off of a RS at 165 so it seems unlikely especially with Starocci, Brooks, and Dean all back. There really isn't much room at the inn.

Monday was a 3x NQ and made it to the R12 his RS freshman year so he's not an ultra elite guy, but will make a massive difference in our lineup as opposed to PSU.

Wasn't MOnday just in the NCAA FInals?
I would consider that elite.

I think that people don’t fully realize how important that every $ is to the SKWC. The PinPool starts at $1 per pin and that adds up with a high participation rate. I realize that it’s not the same as a multi million $ endowment gift. A broad base of support at every level will help the SKWC to grow and be competitive. Based on the crowds we get at JMA that is a realistic scenario.

I have frequently seen the reference to funding the RTC as a/the missing link. I'll ask the obvious question: what is being done to secure funding?
You really don't know about this? It's been mentioned a hundred or so times on the wrestling board. All you have to do is type in "SKWC" and it will bring up their website which you can click on to find out about all they do.

SKWC has to do more and work harder than most in the area to acquire funding. They simply don't have the sugar daddies tossing around millions like psu, Princeton or Penn. They don't have any super rich fans of Rutgers wrestling willing to part with a few million, so they have to cultivate the masses into each giving a little. They do golf outings, other various events(socials) and the pin pool to acquire money.

Last week we had a bake sale and raised $244, tomorrow is the car wash where we hope to raise $300, and next Montueswedthursfrisatsunday we have the pin pool. 😃😂

Accessible merchandise would do a lot. I know a link went out once in the past but a year round website where people could be nice wrestling shirts, hoodies, and half zips is an easy way to raise money but it doesn’t seem like anyone wants to do it. T shirts can be made very cheap especially in bulk and I think most wrestling fans would pay $25 for a shirt and $50 for a hoodie. It doesn’t cost nearly that amount do produce.
