Red Zone Defense

We were one of the worst teams in all of football last year with an opponent touchdown rate when they were in the red zone at around 80%.

Not to have anyone uber concerned - but I think through the first two games of playing nobodies - their TD conversion rate after making it to red zone is 100%. 3 trips - 3 Td’s.

Hopefully we can buck the trend but at this point when it’s nut up time - we aren’t so far.

Too small of a sample size. I am more concerned about not getting off the field in conference play at this point.

I won’t argue the sample size - but would say that the opponents we are facing should make this metric look worlds better, but instead makes it look worse … that’s where my alarm is going off.

Only allowing 3 trips in 2 whole games is something to celebrate, regardless of the competition.

I guess when Rhule has come out publicly and stated this as a point of improvement needed for both the offense and for the defense that he’s keeping eyes on it too.

I hope his convo with DCRA isn't celebrating that we only allowed 3 visits to the red zone.

Nebraska will always be terrible as long as our kicking game, special teams, and red zone efficiency is terrible. There is far too much focus on what happens in between the 20s.
