They are back to "butts kicked in first round of playoffs" status?

I'm convinced a World Series is pretty much out of the question in my lifetime.

That being said, who on this team will be the next to reach either the "too expensive to keep" level or the "marginally good but signed to a loooong term $100 million dollar deal" level?

don't know what Price is supposed to do. Last night, he stayed with Finnegan too long . . . but as soon as he made the move to the pen, Cingrani gave up a booming triple, and then the game losing single. He is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

I don't think Price is very good - should bring up Larkin to get him some free experience - having said that, I don't have a problem with what he did last night. The bullpen is SO bad that I think (and he thinks) the starters likely have a better chance of getting out of trouble than the relief guys.

I think the Reds have a serviceable offense though. Will be interesting to see how they do when the injured pitchers get back.
