Took arms in rounds 2 and 3. They won't trade or sign any free agents to boost the offense and the outfield. Stock piling shortstops at every level in the pipeline. While shortstops are the most athletic players typically on a team who can transition to another position. The Reds big idea of position versatility is to slide a SS over to 2B or 3B. Very few shift to the outfield and even then it is the prospects who likely are fringe Major Leaguers at best. Won't go out and draft a bat fresh out of college. I was really hoping the Reds would have selected the Texas A&M power bat Jace LaViolette who can play all 3 outfield spots. Cleveland landed him.

I do really like this pick. Most HRs in College Baseball this past season. Draws comparisons to Cody Bellinger.

^Pagan has done a good job as the closer this year. Getting setup relievers for high-leverage situations before Pagen comes into the game is the weakness of the bullpen.
