I've always kept my sports "feelings" separated from real life. I can hate someone as a player in my sports world but love them as a person. I appreciate Reed helping his community and applaud him. But in the world of sports he's a traitor to me and to BBN. I'm just simply not a fan of his when it comes to basketball.

Just a question....how many guys on here over 40 are red butted over a 20 year old wearing another teams jersey????

If you are.... go walk in the sunshine some day.

I'll freely admit the week it happened I was upset about it. Not angry, more, just disappointed.

But ya know, life happens and you tend to move on. If anyone is still holding a grudge over it I agree it's time to:

What the hell
People have lost their homes and lives and acting like Reed needed to do this for "forgiveness" is sick. Welcome to a discussion board btw. We discuss opinions. First day here?
What does people losing their homes have to do with you crying about what others opinions are? Drama much? Discussing opinions and talking down to people when you don’t agree are 2 different things. New name same bs huh?

Yeah, well, stupid is another word. As if a kid can't show appreciation for his school and his coach. Reed has never done anything negative towards UK or Kentucky.

We have a bunch of posters who act like 16 year olds who just lost their first girlfriend.
100%. How are you doing man? I know you had some health stuff going on a while back.

And all you've done is cry about other calling you out. Have a good one because you sound like you need it.

Thanks for asking. The burn hospital, one of the best in the US, are miracle workers. I'm nearly healed from that. My liver failure won't get better but I've been doing ok with that.

Its funny. I'd never had so much as an infected hang nail through summer of 2020. Starting in that fall, at 56, the wheels came off. Stay on top of your health as you approach 60, things can get away from you in the blink of an eye.

I just turned 53. The wheels are very slowly coming off. I'm glad you're doing better.

But dude played for the Cats
It does ask the question, was he at UK because of his love for UK or was he at UK for Cal only? It's obvious he was backing his old coach rather than UK by wearing that nasty pig shirt. But the kid did give us a hell of a year.

won't be shamed into taking offense that a UK player who family is true UK wore an Arkansas shirt in support of a coach who put his own needs above the program.

what happened in London is a tragedy and thankful that anyone is helping fellow Kentuckians.

but he did what he did, and if it doesn't mean anything to you, then why are you posting Saturday night, Sunday morning on a Kentucky basketball message board (and at the same telling people to get a life/get some perspective)

I just have to laugh. Its hard to believe a marine acting like that. Come on man.
It's sports fun, friend. It ain't that deep. Arkansas and Cal were very much the sports 'enemy' on that day.

Also, I don't think you're too familiar with how Marines act, lol. We ain't right!

Well, a bit i am. My uncle was a marine in ww2. He fought on Okinawa, hand to hand. My father was a Sargeant in the marines in the Korean war. Appreciate your service.

That’s nice of him to help his hometown but he’s still a razor back! I don’t hate him but he disrespected Kentucky and I’m a Kentucky fan. It’s not like it was AD or John Wall doing it so it never was that big a deal to me anyway. Oakland baby

Hating reed over wearing an arky shirt was pretty dumb imho. The kid gave his best while here and appears to be doing more for the state than alot of other former players who gave the bare minimum til draft night. The dude is ok in my book

He’s a grown man making his own choices. He can wear whatever he wants. Support whoever he wants.

He also should have anticipated the backlash. If he didn’t, that was pretty naive on his part.

We all make decisions in life and then deal with the consequences. We can control our own actions, but we don’t get to control other peoples’ reactions.

He supported his coach, it was no big deal. The thing that gets lost in the shuffle is that if anyone could be upset at Cal for bringing him off the bench and limiting his minutes it would be Reed. He still supports Cal, so obviously his experience at Kenutkcy with Cal wasn't that bad.

I was as mad as anyone for what he did. But in the grand scheme of things there's people who lost homes, lives, and businesses last night and he came to help. He could have wrote a check and said I'm said I'm sorry. He showed up and did some dirty work. In my eyes I can forgive him.
I agree. I mean, he is putting action behind the words and true effort.

Actions speak louder than words. These actions shows he truly cares.

God Bless him and his family and friends in this time of need. So many of us are hurting.

Reed Shepard is Kentuckian who has some influence and can make a difference in a situation like this. Basketball and real life overlap sometimes and when they do it’s important to keep the most important first. The most important in this case are those suffering who have lost family members or their lives. I applaud the young man for stepping up for his state. I have my personal feelings about the kid but he’s doing the right thing and this is where you have to separate a game from real life.

Anyone who’s still taking it personally that he wore an Arkansas shirt needs to grow up. Some things are way bigger than sports. Reeds an awesome dude
You grow up, quit telling people how to deal dbag
