I wanted to see him play in popes system, but he woulda been absolutely stupid to have turned down the assured draft position and money, and the current injury bug that is hitting uk now should be further proof that he made the right choice.

With that said whats the deal with the hate? Is it just because he wore an arkansas t shirt or was there more to it than that?

Anyone would have went pro when you are a lottery pick. It’s a jerk that supports the coach, who refused to start you, over the school and fans that supported you. He will be forever hated by BBN. I guess he thought he looked better in the hog jersey.
So many petty comments about a stupid T shirt. He went 50-50, which to me said he wanted to show respect to both sides. For some of you to shame him for this is classless.

He made 45 million. Somehow I think he will be fine. No one on here would have turned down that money and if they say they would have they are a moron or a liar or both.

He would have made less money by staying as he would have never been drafted so high in a stronger draft.
It’s hard to turn down the allure of being a top 5 pick strictly from an ego point.

But he would have made 5-10m here in NIL and the big money national endorsements. Been a front runner for NPOY and the face of CBB along w Cooper Flag.

Even if he slid to 20 in the next draft, he may have been in a better long term situation in the NBA and a better chance to get a good 2nd contract. He still would have been making 20m or so plus the 5-10m he made here. It would have been closer monetary wise than first glance Lotto money vs baseline NIL.

Reed seems to be a good quiet kid so i kind of hate how the discussion on this board has turned to so many people not liking him . And yes I get it wearing the Arkansas shirt was a terrible decision .

With his minutes it’s hard to get in a rhythm but as many others have said he benefited from a weak draft . But unfortunately for him Houston was probably the worst team to drafted by because their are alot of talent guards/ wings on that team .

Young guys - Jalen Green, Amen Thompson , Cam Whitmore

Vet - Fred Vanvleet, Dillon Brooks

It was a stupid tshirt. And it was a stupid decision. Reed wore it to get a reaction. Well, he got one. Strangely enough, you don’t get to judge what is and isn’t class from the reaction of the fans. Anyone with any common sense can understand why the fanbase is/was pissed. To deny that or call it classless really lacks some awareness.

He’s not getting consistent minutes which makes it difficult to get in a rhythm.

This ^. He only puts him in to give others a quick breather. He's nothing but a place holder this year so you can't make a decision on him, but of course some idiots here have.

There’s no way I would have ever left Kentucky.

For the ones saying he needed to come back, he was the 3rd pick in the draft. He should leave 100/100 times in that scenario. Would I have wanted him back, for sure I would, but he made the correct decision. His issue is the team he got drafted to already had vet guards in play and was never going to give him the time early to play through mistakes.

Why does it matter? According to vast majority on here he had to take the money.

I would have taken the millions and not even thought about it. But, you wouldn't catch me dead wearing a Little Piggie shirt.

I’m not classless and he he lost me when he blew Triple C and Arkansas. He’ll be fine in life but it would be awesome if he never came back to Kentucky again.

LOL. You would have taken that 1st round money and ran to the bank.

Nah. Playing for UK would be the pinnacle. I find it hard to believe the people that would post here wouldnt feel the same.

It’s not like he wouldn’t make nearly as much money by staying. What’s the difference in 20M and 40M in the long run? Hell he was probably a millionaire already through NIL. Also he may be better off in the long run. It’s a different era, but even Jordan played 3 years in college.

So easy to say man. You'd take 1/50th of the money and run.

Nobody cares he left early. He was the third pick. What everyone cares about is he’s a Kentucky born kid, that played at UK, and thought it would be a good idea to wear Arkansas gear before our game. Surely no one is dumb enough to think fans are mad he left early.

I’m starting to wonder if his UK three point percentage might’ve been just a one season lucky fluke. He didn’t shoot at that level in high school and ain’t even remotely close to it in the pros.
I don’t think it was a fluke, but the last two games showed he could have problems creating his own shot and in the league that is infinitely harder.

Like I said, Miles Bridges survived. Is he a clown?
Whatever dude. I KNOW you'd take the money because you are proving how selfish you are for giving him grief. All you care about is your own entertainment. Reed is just a plow horse to you.

You couldn't get your grubby hands on that cash fast enough, lol. See ya bye gone.
