wow, come on with the Florida guesses already, let the young man decide before we do this. I believe it's between us and Florida, agreed. But the Huskers have just as much of a chance as the Gators and we do have FitzPatrick and Butler pulling him towards the Huskers, we can offer early playing time as well and him at Nebraska his parents could make every single game, away or home. So we do have a lot going for us too. Lets wait and see.

Yeah, how dare you guess at one of the two likely outcomes. You're going to alter the outcome, don't you know anything about physics? Don't even look at his announcement!

Watch the film. I'm not sure he was all that special.

Just a few minutes from announcement to "he wasn't that good anyway". But he is a 4 star prospect with offers from Florida and Texas, which usually means that we would like to have him.

I did hear that Michigan wanted him at FB, not LB, but were willing to let it play out once he arrived on campus. But when he insisted on LB, that's when he and Michigan parted ways.

Do we need one? We have two good LB's committed (Doman and Simmons) and Alexander could play LB or DE. Plus we have Bando, Weber and Ferguson currently at MLB's. Reese was a good player and good friends with a couple big time recruits, but we aren't bad off at LB moving forward.

they say his weakness at lb was against the pass and he goes to the SEC? Isn't the SEC more spread offenses? Reese seems to me to be a prefect Big 10 mlb.

Could be value in a 2-down LB who likes to fire into the A-gap and blow up lead blocks in the SEC.

We'll be ok. Our best Mike might have been a sophomore walk on. Our best position coach might be LB. I don't know that we were in desparate need. I really would like to grab Fitz and Butler though.

That's the biggest problem with losing Reese. I wonder how much of their interest in NU (Fitz, Butler) was based upon this package deal scenario. If it was a considerable factor, these guys may cool on us. Hope not, but my tank is a little low on optimism.

I respectfully disagree here. The biggest problem with losing Reese is that we lost Reese. If we lose the other two, then that becomes the biggest problem. But we can't assume that to be a problem just yet.

Yeah, "biggest" wasn't the best word to use. I was downplaying the loss of Reese himself because I am not worried about our LB situation like I was in training camp or in early season. I find myself upset that we lost him primarily because I thought for a while we were going to get him, and he was going to end our verbal drought. That, and the aforementioned package deal potential.
