Should be reviewed Koz, but I am not sure how they have enough time to review “the 3 blind mice” every time they demonstrate this level of negligence.
It’s not an obsession it is a question and we should be able to have better refs. I don’t know if you watched the game but they called fouls where nobody was even touched. The Liz Dixon block was one of the worst calls I have seen. The announcers questioned several fouls when they showed the replays. CJW addressed in his post game presser. Maybe you don’t know the rules of the game well enough to be disappointed by such a bad performance by the refs.
I know it won’t do any good… but you complain about refereeing every game. Why don’t you volunteer and become a referee and see how hard it is.
I didn’t know you were the board police telling us what we should post or not post. By the way every game is a different game we post about our opponents every game We post about our style of play every game. Unfortunately the refereeing is so bad we post about it. Obviously you didn’t watch the game today. The refs were so bad they were booed by the fans, the announcers looked at the replays and talked about how bad they were and CJW commented on bad calls during his post game presser. The calls were so bad CHW got a technical called on him protesting the call. You should watch the game before making comments you have no knowledge of.
I watched the game. I saw Dixon have a great game. I saw where HVL is starting to hit her 3’s at a better percentage. By the way, we had just come off a very emotional game and were ripe for another loss but the girls rebounded with a significant win against a good WF team. Wasn’t close and all you got out of it was bad officiating? I watch the team not the officials.
Doesn’t mean the refs did a good job. The women deserve better. If the refs were this bad in the mens game people would be complaining continually. Obsession no wanting a fairly called game for both teams. It’s a real problem in the women’s game. I’m sure Koz complains after each game because it’s that bad.
By the way poor play calling cost us the opportunity to play in the NC game 2018. That should never happen.
Yes, the refs were a mess yesterday but you can expect more of that the rest of the season. Until more refs go through the training and get the experience to call D1 WBB games your refs pool will be limited. I will say that refereeing is a thankless job that doesn't pay great.
I also haven't seen the ACC refereeing review and grader in the KFC YUM Center this year. She was a fixture at games before COVID . I've also heard that some of the refs are not fond of Walz always questioning their calls. I have no direct contact to back that statement, though.
When Paulie refereed many years ago, he remembered the rough crowds and coaches. He enjoyed it but felt unappreciated and admitted sometimes he made a bad call. I suppose that still goes on.

I was ref for soccer, baseball (ump), basketball, football and volleyball. It is not easy - totally agree. However, you must have thick skin. I am sure Jeff is the only D1 coach who questions their calls **if you don’t want each one questioned don’t make ****** calls. Anyway, the key is consistency - period. Yesterday, at one point Wake had almost as many FT points as they did from the field. The refs were not consistent at all. If you call low strikes- fine - but call low strikes for both pitchers.
I know they used to if a head coach requested it. I have contacted someone with the ACC to get an explanation of the current policy (if there is one) and will report back if/when I receive an answer.

Thanks Sonja! I would be interested to know if Jeff did make an inquiry or complaint about the WF game.
Walz used to indicate if he did or was going to but I haven't heard him mention it lately, but...all I can say is if I were the head coach, I'd certainly push the Liz Dixon "phantom foul" on the block to a review board. shoot...maybe even to Perry Mason to litigate..m

I am obviously biased, but I don't see Walz getting on the refs any more than most other coaches.
