I'm honestly more worried about the refs than
usc Jr!!!!!!!! It makes me sick when these games happen, AND I rarely complain about refs. I might bring it up 4-5 games a year, usually on the road, and sad to say BUT even occasionally at Rupp!:(

You won't see Okafer on the bench tomorrow with 2 fouls within the first 3-4 minutes of gametime. I can promise you that.

My point is, no other top team gets screwed like UK does in its conference.

I am weary of these "refs" posts as they are every year. The refs are going to call fouls on us and the other team. Most of them they get right. They may miss a couple but too many only pay attention to those that don't work to our favor. I saw after the UNC game their fans complaining about refs, same with a couple other teams we beat. Hasn't anyone figured out you see selectively based upon who you are rooting for?

They are watching the same game the ALWAYS watch. There's a "refs are screwing us" and the "announcers suck" thread every game. It's really quite embarrassing, but WAY too many of our fans are so emotional during a game that they have no sense of reality.

I thought at first of game, they were some questionable fouls. After Cal got irate, they backed off and called more fairly.

Yep, I bet they even pregamed it prior to the game. On the chalkboard was......"Ways to screw UK today".

Geez, these threads are ridiculous. Really sad part is that some of you actually believe it. Its always got to be a conspiracy. It can't Just be that they missed calls or that some are just bad, it's always got to be that someone is out to get us. Give it a rest!

this is true the REFS WERE ATROCIOUS THE FIRST 30 MINUTES .PERIOD AND IT WAS ONE SIDED. But the last 10 they did a decent job . I do believe there have been times when we have played and the refs have been out for us as games like At Arkansas last year don't happen any other way , but today they just were bad .

They do boozo. You did not know that?

If you think that the refs did not plan calling 9 of the first 12 fouls today in the second half then I have some mountain top land to sell you in South Florida.

Greene and Burr are two of the worst.

I don't know. Looked bad on both ends today. Looked like they tried to keep it close in the 2nd half but I've always thought the SEC hates blowouts on National TV. Burr is so blind Ray Charles is giving him his eye exam.

Yep, I yelled at some of the refs' calls, but they weren't that bad overall. I wish our fan base could be above ref bitching every game. Just enjoy an 18 point W.

It was 15 points. You must be bad at math.

The refs kept it from being 30.

Jim Burr was awful both ways and to anyone that watches enough basketball that isn't anything new. By far one of the worst officials along with Roger Ayers. I didn't think the other two guys were bad at all. For all the talk about Tony Greene, I really don't think he's a bad official at all. All in all I think just like most other games we got some bad calls and USC got some bad whistles. Today wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

There are questionable calls in every game. You can't judge officials unless the questionable calls are rampant. That didn't happen today.

I saw calls that could have been made against us and them underneath, but for the most part, they were letting them play.

I am not sure if Burr actually tries to screw anyone in general, he just sucks.

A couple posters earlier hit on what I saw,... when Cal started losing his mind, things seemed to start being screwy both ways.

I do hate the anticipatory whistle that some of our bigs seem to get and that really many do from todays "prepared" officials.

I would really like to go back to the day of "call what you see" instead of analytics and studying tendencies of teams and players.

There is no conspiracy...see Texas School Book Depository and Grassy Knoll.

There is ineptitude, inability to be in the correct place to make a call, and frequent bias and slant on some calls that home court brings.

As usual, there were calls on both sides that just makes one wonder.

This one had a full share of that though.

I don't think its necessarily screwing one team or the other, but there are some questionable calls on the road.
If you people haven't figured out yet, refs control ball games. What better way to keep a point spread close than to call and 1's on one end and in the same situation on the other, let it play out. It's the reason refs calls are so inconsistent during games from one half to the next

It seems like Willie gets a lot of touch fouls called every game, not just this one, I guess what frustrates people is one of the Harrisons got mugged twice down the floor and then they call Willie for touching the guy right after that. Cal did call them out on that, but it was too late, those cheap fouls can alter your game plan big time but we did alright, Willie has got to know now that he will be the one called for that kind of silly stuff when the refs cave in to the opponents crowd.

Tony doesn't let the crowd influence his decisions, I thought today the crowd early on made some of the calls against us especially the ones on Willie. He doesn't need to sit on bench and coach we need his enthusiasm out there.

It was pretty bad early on. The old guy can't see worth a crap and seems to just favor the home team. We get a lot of calls at home, too. On one play a guy tried to go through our defense and simply lost the handle out of bounds. USC ball.

It wouldn't be so bad if their idiot fans didn't go nuts every time he made a call in their favor.

Laughed out loud when the tv camera was on the UK bench and the old ref was explaining something to Cal. Cal had this look like" what the **** did that old fart just say? Hilarius. The refs missed some badly today as always, but not much if any worse than normal, and what I saw was both ways. Officiating is regressing nationwide from my view, not sure why but notice it much more this year.

The refs are not out to get us and to think so is stupidity. I thought our bigs got away with quite a bit of contact today.I can't figure out why you would even watch basketball if you thought it was really that corrupted.

It does seem like in every game if 2 players are going for the ball and it's a close call who the ball went out on, we almost never get the call.

Watch a game where you absolutely don't care who wins or loses. You'll probably think the refs aren't that bad.
