Exhibit some class, act like you’ve been there before, and take a knee.
No keep playing and develop a killer attitude in these players. The players need to get a taste of “stomping on throat” we haven’t had that for 7 years and once it is regained you can than call off dogs. But you have to develop killer instinct first

It wasn’t to develop a killer attitude though. Frost was pissed the Buffalo coach called a timeout. That was about Frost not the players

they had her on tv alot, she would stick her hand in front of martinez' face to start each play....maybe that's a new thing for refs to do, I'm not sure, haven't noticed before.

When the offense subs the official steps in to allow the defense to sub, been the rule since like 2004?

I guess my issue with the helmet penalty is the severity of the penalty… That’s a personal foul? How? If you wanna make it a penalty, make it a five yarder… Not an automatic first down type penalty. I get that they’re trying to protect the player who lost his helmet, but if that player wants to make the tackle, why penalizing 15 yards and first down?

BIG and MAC officials work both conferences. I was told by a BIG ref that because of covid that the core MAC refs opted out for the year.

interesting. Did not know so many Refs were your typical Lib…using an excuse to avoid working for a living. Explains the calls also.

They had a couple closeups of her on TV. She looked anorexic to me. If I were Martinez her sticking her skeletal, bony hand in my face would have given me the creeps.

I did'nt see a closeup really, she did look thin...I figured that was from running...
I'm not sure she would fair well in a collision between a rb and lb

Oh great, now the "refs against Nebraska" has spread to other conferences. The network of communications on how to screw the Huskers must be tremendous.

I actually had a problem with the pick play but he could have kept running a pattern and the pitch was really close to call but they did and obviously there was no video evidence to overturn.

Is it seriously your mission to look for “husker homers” and post something contrary whenever you see them post? Sure seems like it.

Is it your mission to monitor my posts? How about we just better as a team and quit blaming everyone in the free world and half the communist countries.

Yeah, I just like reading up on the huskers. I’ve just noticed a pattern with your posts… sorry, didn’t mean to upset you by pointing it out.

I especially appreciate the hyperbole you employ… anyone who questions refs must be blaming everyone in the free world and half the communists. I guess I’m not reading the same threads you are reading…

Do it in the third quarter. Quit dicking around and playing patty cake. If you have to stomp a throat with 10 seconds left you’re ****.

Refs are terrible. Today a Cleveland browns defender stepped on the ball carrier who was laying on the ground, then he proceeded to give a Chief's assistant coach a hard shove in the chest. The ref was standing right next to the browns player and called a penalty on Kansas City. It was so egregious, New York offices of the NFL had to call down to the field and have them reverse the call. Unbelievable how blind these guys are. They are a disgrace.

There isn't a guy on this board who wouldn't pop that given the chance.

The horribly generous first down spots aren't unique to this game. I feel like a mandate was handed down a few years ago that said something like, "Fans don't mind endless TV commercials or hearing 'the previous play is under review' 300 times per game. But those darned first down measurements are making the games too long! Just get rid of them by handing out first downs like Halloween candy."
True. Rarely ever see a measurement anymore.

And how did his helmet come off? The lineman ripped it off!
the thing is a division 1 player in college should know when his helmet is off, and should know what helmets are for....thus should have the mental capacity not to bang his head till he gets his helmet back on...

I'm not sure why you need a penalty over it....it's not rocket science stuff....

Some guys play with their hair on fire so much so that they don't even realize they're missing equipment. I'm hoping that was the deal with him but it's more likely that he just forgot the rule. Bet it doesn't happen again. I have no problem with him playing on.

Name one thing a football player or team gets penalized for that is rocket science.

If I see the video of a pitch showing it was legal, I’ll say it was a bad call. The video I saw yesterday it looked to be at best a straight line (legal) but it definitely didn’t appear backward at all.

He sure as hell wasn't pitching to someone in front of him. Had Nixon not reached forward to snag the pitch, the play would have been perfectly executed. The pitch starts out with Nixon very much behind Smothers and he runs forward to the ball. I thought it was a very pretty play.

That actually makes it appear more forward. He released the ball at the 11 and it was caught at the 10. You don't reach forward to catch a ball that is too you. Nixon's relationship to Smothers is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is the direction the ball is going. You are right that the play was well executed, except for pitching the ball forward.

Based on those 2 photos, I would say, penalty confirmed.

It's where the ball is not the players. It was lateral at best. Certainly not backwards.

Those photos show:

Ball is released at the top of the "0" in the 10 yard marker

Ball was caught at the left edge of the "0" in the 10 yard marker.

The left edge of the "0" is downfield of the top edge of the "0". Therefore it was a forward pass.

Very good call.
