Iowa was called for illegal screens on two of three possessions heading into the U12 timeout of the 1st half. That's 2 offensive possessions taken away.

They aren't refs, they're gatekeepers for the veteran coaches and elite teams, specifically on their home courts. It honestly makes watching games like this mostly pointless.
Given everything that’s coming out about sports rigging, I wouldn’t be surprised if this were true. The problem with greed is that it never stops. It consumes everything in its path. Those involved know where this ultimately leads, the destruction of the sport itself and all the money involved.

Good Lord, a bunch of weak-minded people here!

Every game the women lost while Clark was at Iowa, was somehow the refs fault

NBA refs are miles better than college refs. NBA refs will suck because they’re gambling. College refs suck because of incompetence. Saying a college ref is in on the action gives them too much credit. They are simply that terrible, which is why they’re reffing in college instead of the Association.
Yes, NBA refs are miles better than college refs.

You got that part right at least

Some of us have been saying this for years. Call the contact, and they'll stop doing it. It really is that simple.
Want to agree with this but: there's soooooo much contact not called over the years that has become standard procedure if it was all called everyone would foul out and the game would take 6 hrs to play or suspended from lack of available players.
Wait, Players could be given 10 fouls each instead of 5.

With so much being reviewable in football its harder for them to screw stuff up…unless we’re playing Minnesota and “fair catching” a punt. Ik, ik, too soon
Another point that I think is very important to the fans' perception: The fans have a much, much, MUCH clearer view of the game in basketball than in football.

A foul that seems obvious when it happens just a few feet in front of you is a lot different than a hold you see from 80 yards away.

No, players would stop making contact. But if it takes 6 guys fouling out before they get the hint, so be it. Problem is, the officials don’t have the guts to not only call all the fouls, but also to call all the fouls on teams like Purdue and Michigan State.

Letting Izzo, Painter, and other coaches operate under a different set of rules has got to stop.

Had to rewind that twice because I was so confused on what the call was.

I thought the commentators would mention something about the play, but they were too busy swallowing Smith to comment on it.

It looked like they called an offensive foul on Koch, but the camera cut away fairly quickly. It definitely did not go out of bounds off Iowa.

I thought they called the offensive foul on Koch. When in the game was that play?

I am sick of teams driving to the basket getting awarded a foul just for Iowa breathing on them. When Iowa goes to the basket there is hard contact and no whistle.
Stop breathing on them, and foul them hard. Make the most out of the foul!

yeah that’s the play. During the game the ref just pointed towards Purdue, which could mean out of bounds off Iowa or an offensive foul. Neither one made much sense given the play.

It didn't, but I think if Koch was simply impeding the Purdue player from getting the ball by running in between the ball and the player he'd have been fine. It was him swinging his arm out at the last second and making contact with the opposing player that resulted in a whistle.

I was confused watching as well. I thought in real time he called oob on koch. Which made more sense than a foul on him. But the most egregious part of that sequence was Combs not being at the ft line after getting tackled
