And the schedule 10+ years ago was way harder. And a team that doesn't win state can't be seen as better than teams that did win them and 2 were undefeated and the other 2 won by over 60 points in state title game. So Simmons ratings mean nothing. Just watch the film and you will see they were not on the same level.

The world is full of woulda, coulda and shoulda. And you appear to be old enough to know that. Those games will never be played so the numbers are the only things that matter. Ever ex-player in ever sport speaks of "in my day". Well your day is done just like the rest of ours. There is a possibility that those teams woulda won and there is a possibility that they would have gotten the hell beat out of them. We will never know.

Well we do know last years team lost. Regardless of anything else they lost. So can't put them in same category. I also lost in 05. And I will never say that team was better than 02 03 team. Just Simmons ratings mean nothing .Schedules are way easier now than then .If cummings was still relevant that would help year to year .But you play who you play. Just hate our conference is sooo bad. And I'm surprised for Pass to be playing at all . Figured he would be concentrating on basketball .But Il shut up and let y'all argue the rest of season. Il be back on when Moorehead dont make 3rd round playoffs football capitol lol

Reidsville's prep football history is amazing – second to none – and all true RHS fans are proud and want the best for every student-athlete. Past, present and future.
There's no need to dwell on the thrilling days of yesteryear when you're discussing the 2018 squad. It's a different team charting its own path.

Yes. Numbers do lie .02 03 07 09 rams would destroy the 16 and 17 rams team. With a running clock
People lie. Not statistics. And this is not directed at any specific person.

It is depressing when so called fans of any team belittle and criticize players, particularly young freshmen or sophomores. Everyone makes mistakes, more often when they are young and learning.

There are several Div I recruiting coaches who have to make their living evaluating football talent who think Breon Pass has a great future in football. I somehow suspect they may know a little more than any self proclaimed expert message board observer.

Saying any of those teams would beat 2016 is one thing, but saying they would do it with a running clock is laughable and shows you are just talking out of your hind parts.

Well after thumbing thru and reading this post sounds like my Bears have there hands full when they come to eden Friday night. Wish we were driving down the road to face the rams. A lot of history between Reidsville and Mt Airy. Somebody make this non conference game happen.

I respect Mt.Airy..but you guys would beat Reidsville 1 out of 20 times. Reidsville has way too many athletes every year..you guys(Mt.Airy) have a special athlete in Greene..Reidsville has a few of those EVERY year.

We have solid football players every year print, we dress 29 to 34 football players every year , not athletes just 29 to 34 football players, solid coaching staff. One of the highest winning percentages in the state, we might not win this match up year in and year out but I bet we could make a game of it. Would be a fun series. Just wondering, how many times have you seen the rams play or are you just going by what you read here ? Just a little food for thought, a certain 1aa team moved up last year to play in the 2a ship, they didn’t fair to bad, that’s no disrespect to the rams as the program is one of if not the best In the state, but giving a little credit to the 1a powers. 1aa football ain’t to shabby year in and year out

It was a perfect opportunity for a switch of opponents ... Reidsville home to Reynolds and Morehead home to Mount Airy. Not sure Morehead would want to trade the gate though -- as I suspect Mt. Airy has a better travel fan base than Reynolds (just a guess about fan base). Reynolds had a good home crowd in the game a year ago in Winston-Salem. But Reidsville-Mount Airy would be a great rivalry (again).

I agree Tgt, we do travel well, the history of the two programs , both win a lot in there classification, how much better can you get from that, but to me the past and the story of the two make the present even more worth while to pursue. Who knows the rams might would put a whooping on us but my gut says the tradition of it would make it a barn burner. Kinda like cross town / county rivals , don’t matter who has what you can always bank on a hell of a game when you put the strap on

Mule, that’s what I’ve heard as well , hearing the rams numbers are down and could be heading down to the 1a ranks next re alignment, the history of the two would make it somewhat a rivalry game. Rams and Bears have similar fates year in and year out with playing in traditional weak conferences. Fun game that should be made by the powers that be, but now to some real talk, I’ve read the thread , but what’s the real scoop on Morehead and what can I expect to see Friday night when we come to town . I read your post and respect your opinion

If morehead only had a good quarterback there running back was good he broke em a few times on us #35 I say stop him and you are good to go. Think Reidsville came in to the game thinking was gonna be like last yr 74-0 and morehead came ready to play. Reidsville made just a few extra plays there at the end with the blocked extra point and then the blocked fg that sealed the win for the rams

game was more smash-mouth when Reids/MA played back in the day; had to move the games to Bowman Gray stadium due to crowds....Rams a different beast these days

Actually Gdawg..ive saw Reidsville several times including the era when they had Simpson at WR..one of the best athletes i' ve personally ever seen. I watched them lose to Shelby at Reidsville think it was maybe 5 yrs ago or so. I watched them score a boatload of points in a state championship game.against Bandys(i think).with i think Rankins at Qb..i think they scored over 60 pts in that game. Dude im sorry if you think i just talk..but ive been travelling to see great football across the state for years. I have missed only a handful of championship games since 1998 and almost none of them before they subdivided. I could've sworn that Reidsville was playing you guys and West Stokes not too many years ago. I def could be wrong though. I know year after year they obliterated West Stokes..if im not mistaken. As i stated i totally respect Mt.Airy's program..but i think playing Reidsville in most years would be similar to playing a Shelby..Hibriten..Tarboro..WRH...a lot of fast kids...and its tough to beat speed..not saying Mt.Airy doesn't have any..but none to the likes of the aforementioned teams year in and year out.

Mt. Airy/Reidsville games were played at Bowman Gray stadium (Winston-Salem) for over a dozen years from 1941 thru 1953 season....reason was not size of crowd...it was because of a mini riot that occurred one year (in 1941) at Mt. Airy when fisticuffs broke out...lights were cut off...etc....part of Reidsville football lore.....The 2 teams were in the same conf. from early 30's thru the 1970 season....some classic games were played between the 2 for decades

just did a little historical digging as far as Reidsville/Mt. Airy...The 2 teams met for the first time in 1927 and the last time in 1970....Over that span they played each other 42 times....Reidsville winning 23...Mount Airy 16....and 3 Ties....................total points scored in those games Reidsville 534 (for an avg of 12.8 ppg); and Mount Airy 395 points (for an avg. of 9.4 ppg)...........Mount Airy shut out Reidsville 8 times......Reidsville shut out Mount Airy 9 times....one year they shut each other out (in 1945 they played to a 0-0 tie)........................"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.".........................

Rankin didn’t play QB. The Williams kid did. Rankin played RB/LB

I expect Mt Airy to win this game.

Morehead's passing game is not very good and the Rams tried to give them the game with a dropped sure TD pass and a late fumble when the Rams were looking to put the game away. Subsequent on side kick recovery when a couple of Rams were standing around watching gave Morehead the chance to win but they refused to do so.

Morehead does have a strong running game and a very fast running back so this should be a good one.

The QB for Reidsville when Jerome Simpson played was Anthony Crews (2002 state title) and Kendon Doe (2003 state title when they destroyed Bandys 68-12).
