Looks like a ruling has been made concerning RHS athletic department. Varsity Football and Basketball go unscathed
So let us get this straight! Pretty much every sport at Reidsville had to forfeit games due to eligibility issues but Varsity Football and Basketball were good to go ??? Someone double and triple checked those particular sports for eligibility yet didn’t get around to making sure all those others were good???

I also could care less in the grand “scheme” of things but if you take out football, you automatically hurt basketball because of the athletes that play both. No chance in hell they would risk hurting the 2 for 1 with the success between both. Basically what I am saying is, if you think those two didn’t have protection from this you are full of $hi*. This was a big time cover up for reputation alone. 45 student athletes and not one played football or basketball. 😂😂😂

If they would of gotten Football and Basketball then you have to pay back the playoff money you earned

For the football program: I am not surprised at all in the outcome. I knew from the beginning...call it a feeling...call it premonition...whatever you call it, football being cleared was the inevitable outcome.

Some of you shoulda took part in the investigation.
You didn’t want that and the higher ups didn’t either. Nobody will tell what they know because they cannot take the the hit on the reputation. Nobody, and I mean nobody believes this investigation wasn’t done to protect the football and basketball programs. 55 straight for basketball and numerous football titles. As said above, only two sports would have to reimburse money made and it was the two that were cleared.

Let me also add, if this has been done in Shelby they would have every news outlet around. NCHSAA would be collecting DNA samples and parents tax documents. Y’all got away with it, plain and simple.

That's your oppion man. Idk how you could know if you weren't even in it. I had my theory on some of the stuff that went wrong on the old nc preps account and Mule said I was wrong. Also, not saying I'm 100% right. People wanted the rams to get in trouble for football and basketball, if those were the only sports in trouble no one would be protesting what about the other sports. I do respect Mule cause he does know his. I'd rather talk about the current events and the actual games. Here's some things to consider: The old AD seemed like he was a little lazy to put it mild. Football has a lot of involved members the head coach works at the school. Its damn near as many football coaches as it is players.Basketball has the same, but the coIach doesn't work at the school but is highly involved.

Now lets look at some of the other sports: Most do not work at the school and are likely not that inolved/have other jobs. Seems like a bad recipe with the AD. Baseball also got cleared right, that new coach is highly involved and is a state trooper I hear.

I'm thinking a physical covers the entire school year or at least a semester (correct me if I'm wrong). The football team is more organized than any of the others and I'm sure the coaches made sure all the T's were crossed. The basketball team was made up of mostly the football players so most of those guys would be covered. Some of the other sports are coached by volunteers or whoever they can enlist to drive an activity bus. Sadly, there's a huge staff turnover season to season for many of the so-called minor sports at Reidsville High. In some rare occasions in the past no coach could be found and thus no team.

We're talking physicals here, not academics or attendance, so if the proper forms were not turned in on the required forms you have an issue. Doesn't mean the ineligible kid didn't get a physical ... just didn't have it recorded on the proper form.

Most of this falls to the athletic director, who has since been sent packing.

Just my opinion. ... That's what this forum is all about.

This is probably the case. The coaches on these (football & men's basketball) teams probably paid more attention than the others. A physical last 365 days.

However, anyone that thinks it doesn't look like the football and basketball teams are favored in this investigation is just being a homer. I'm not saying they did any wrong, just saying from an outsider it is "convenient" that the two money makers weren't hurt. I'm sure that the NCHSAA (or whoever) did the investigation were thorough because if something got out that was missed, they would all lose their comfy jobs. Personally, any tie to a school is not worth that to me.

Also, anyone from Reidsville that thought they weren't going to catch some smack on these boards regardless of the outcome is delusional. Football and Basketball not in trouble = Reidsville pays off the investigator, Q wouldn't do that to Reidsville, etc. Football and basketball do get in trouble = Lose money, "can only win when the cheat", etc. Either way was going to be a lose, lose for Reidsville due to their history and amount of fans on these boards.

Here's to a new year and hopefully everyone gets their stuff together.

Weird part jv basketball and jv football failed with some of the same coaches. None of those kids played in blowout games?

There were no jv basketball kids on varisty. Only juniors. It was also only 4 jv kids on the report from online, possible that none of them were varisty level. Rememer Rams were in more competitive games last year and thus didn't play as many jv guys.

Reidsville self reported.

The central administration, working with the high school, contracted retired Guilford County Athletics Administrator Leigh Hebbard to conduct a comprehensive review of all athletic participation forms to determine compliance with NCHSAA athletic participation requirements.
